  • Transit Employees Obtain Longevity Pay

    The Valley County Commissioners met during regular session on Aug. 30, where they took action on the Transit Boards recommendation for longevity pay. The Transit Board recommended a longevity pay of $10 per pay period for one to two years of service; $15 per pay period for two+ to five years of service; $25 per pay period for five+ to 10 years of service; and $40 per pay period for anyone with over 10 years of service.     After being convicted on two felony counts of Sexual Abuse of a Child by a jury in Glasgow on June 9, Tommy Sanson II was sentenced on Aug. 21 to 25 years in the Montana State Prison with 15 years suspended for each felony count. These sentences are to run concurrently with one another. Parole eligibility is contingent on completing at least the educational phase of the sex offender treatment program utilized by the prison.     Marketing Specialist and Public Relations of Nemont Gregg Hunter presented the Glasgow City-County Library a check in the amount of $5,400 on Aug. 24.     On July 6, at 8:40 a.m., the Valley County Sheriff’s Office responded to the cabin area of Fort Peck Lake for an unresponsive two-year old, later identified as Cullen Meland, found in the water. Meland, son of Braden and Bethany Meland, of Billings, was staying with relatives in the area when the accident occurred.
