The Glasgow Police Department, in coordination with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) will collect unused and unwanted medications at both the Valley County Courthouse and at the police station during regular business hours on Saturday, Oct. 23.     The Glasgow Police Department is seeking the driver responsible for crashing into a portable police speed radar set up at the crosswalk at Scottie Pride Drive and Cloud Street. According to police reports, the incident was reported at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday.     The Valley County Health Department (VCHD) on Friday confirmed the death of a woman in her 70s due to COVID-19 infection. This marks the fifth death since Sept. 1, and the 23rd since the pandemic began. On Friday, VHCD officials stated there were 52 new and confirmed COVID-19 infections in Valley County sine the prior week, which saw 30 new cases.     During their regular meeting Wednesday morning, County Commissioners Mary Armstrong and Paul Tweten voted to ease fire restrictions. Chair John Fahlgren was away on county business.     Glasgow Middle School's girls cross country team placed all five of its scorers in the top 16 positions to take the team title at its home meet last Saturday at Sullivan Park.     Of an eligible population of 6,313 residents, only about 40% currently are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the Valley County Public Health Department.
