Scottie Golfers Finally Get on the Greens

Glasgow's golf teams managed to get two-thirds of their season in this past week with meets in Wolf Point and Malta.

The Scottie boys took the top spots at both events, with different golfers leading the way.

Eli Feezell led the Scottie boys in Wolf Point April 27 with a score of 85. Glasgow won the event with 351 points, outplaying Plentywood, 376, and Malta, 396.

Keigan Ingram placed fifth with 87 and Rance Rhoads scored 89 for sixth place. Riley Smith shot 90 for seventh place and Connor Koski shot a 99.

Kylie Lagerquist led an incomplete girls team with 115 for 10th place. Elle Stone shot a 128 and Alesia Hopstad shot a 134.

Carter Hoerster led the boys JV team with a 91, followed by Sam Knierim with a 101 and Michael Hoyer with a 112.

"We had a great tournament. It is great to have a team that if a player has a bad day the others step up and shoot good scores!" enthused head coach Todd Truscott. "Congrats to Eli for winning his first tournament! Having four out of the top seven is amazing [and] Coach Smith and I can't wait to see what these boys can do with the rest of the season!"

Saturday the Scotties were in Malta where a third Scottie won the boys' competition. Keigan Ingram shot an 81 to lead Glasgow to a first place finish with 340 points. Cut Bank took second with 356 and Conrad placed third with 367.

Riley Smith was a single stroke behind Ingram and claimed second with his 82. Rance Rhoads shot an 87 for seventh place. Eli Feezell took 10th with a 90 and Connor Koski shot a 106.

Kylie Lagerquist again led an incomplete girls team, taking ninth place with a 111. Alesia Hopstad shot a 123 and Elle Stone turned in a 139.

"This was an important tournament because it had all the 2B and 1B there. It was great to get the win. We have had three tournaments and we have three different boys win individually so it is pretty awesome. I can't wait to see what happens this week," Truscott said. "We invite everybody to come out Friday, May 6, to our invite and cheer on the Scotties!"

Glasgow travels to Wolf Point Thursday, May 5, for the Poplar Invitational. The Glasgow Invitational will be at Sunnyside with a 9 a.m. tee off time Friday, May 6.
