The Scottie senior lauded the boys team as well, "They had a great pack going on, and to have the top four runners in the 18 minutes is really impressive."

In Junior Varsity action, freshman Owen Thompson placed 130th with a time of 26:42.30 and junior Dylan Hlad ran a time of 29:09.21 for 140th place.

"Both teams ran really well, with the boys placing 9th and the girls placing 14th, and most of our boys were close in times," Larsen said, expressing pride in his fellow Scotties. The junior is looking for his team to take some state championship titles as well as setting personal records throughout the season.

On the girls side, McKean said, "This season I'm looking forward to just making the best of my senior year and be a teammate others can look up to. Our team dynamic is so special, and I'm so glad to be a part of this team!"

The Scotties will be at the Poplar Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 4, with races beginning at 10 a.m.
