Glasgow Clinic Welcomes New Family Medicine Doctor

The Glasgow Clinic recently added a new face to their already established repertoire of doctors and nurse practitioners, Dr. Curtis Campbell, Doctor of Osteopathy. Dr. Campbell started earlier this month after coming from the Glendive Medical Center where he had worked since 2018.

Dr. Campbell is originally from Georgia and obtained his Bachelors of Chemical Engineering at Brigham Young University, in Provo, Utah, in 2011. He then went on to obtain his Doctor of Osteopathy degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee, Ga., graduating in 2015. After spending his internship and residency in Georgia, he moved to Glendive, where he worked at the Glendive Medical Center before locating to "the middle of nowhere."

Dr. Campbell relocated to Glasgow with his wife and two daughters, five and seven years old, as a way to get away from the hustle and bustle of a busy city lifestyle. "I really wanted to get away from the traffic," explained Campbell for moving away from his hometown. "I looked at jobs in Georgia and Idaho, had other interviews, and I just kept coming back to Montana. Now Billings is a big town for us!," he exclaimed.

His transition to Glasgow from Glendive is due to his connections with Dr. Ross, a doctor at Glasgow Clinic."I knew Dr. Ross previously, and he mentioned there was an opening. I decided to check it out," Dr. Campbell explained.

As a Doctor of Osteopathy, he is trained not only in all aspects of family medicine but also manipulative medicine, as he explained is similar to being a chiropractor, as he went through 500 extra hours to learn the various techniques. He admits he picked family medicine as an area of focus because of the wide range of ages that he will would have the opportunity to treat.

"Babies are just awesome. I love hearing stories of those that have been around the block. All stages of life are awesome and they all have different things to add to society," Dr. Campbell explained.

Being a doctor was always something Dr. Campbell felt he wanted to do. He grew up with brothers, and was always the go-to when they needed medical attention. "The motto was always 'Don't tell Mom!'," laughed Dr. Campbell. "I was always the go-to to grab bandaids, anti-septic, whatever was needed. My older brother kind of put me in charge of all of that!"

Dr. Campbell looks forward to continue to make the area home and sees himself in the future continuing to do what he does best, treat patients and bring them on the pathway to health.
