Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Susan Alice Frost

Susan Alice (Stuart) Frost, 89, passed away Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, with family by her side.

As we will honor our mother's wishes, we will have no funeral service at this time. We will have a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers we would like your memorial contribution to be to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

She was born on Sept. 22, 1936, in Glasgow, Mont., to Joyce and Alice Stuart. She was raised in Glasgow and graduated in 1954 from Glasgow High School. In 1956 she married Lawren Frost. With this union they had six children. Within the first three years, she was a very busy mamma with three little ones. Then the Frost clan grew three more! Ma loved to cook. She could make anything with what she had in the cupboard. She was famous for her tuna salad.

Having six children can be hard for anyone. Back in those days were even harder, but one thing we all well remember is that Ma made sure her kids had the BEST Christmases. Sometimes the tree even stayed up through Valentine's Day. She tried having the house neat and tidy all the time, but mind you, she had boys playing football in the house or throwing bowling balls down the stairs. So just imagine. Susan was Ma to more kids than just her biological ones. She was Ma to many. Marie and Gwen Schafer held a very special place in her heart.

She loved garage sales. As many of you know she never wanted anything to go to waste. She felt if someone could use it or it could be repurposed it should be. She loved cleaning up dolls and toys and fixing them. She loved reading books and watching movies. She had an avid book collection and video collection. Disney movies were her favorite.

She loved to drive. She always wanted a little sports car. But as many of you may not know, she NEVER had a license. From 1974 to 1982, she and the clan ran Trails West Campground. She worked TLC for almost 15 years. The last four years she lived at Valley View. She was loved by everyone up there. Her smile was contagious. She loved having her grandson, Vann, working up there.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Bradley Dittus.

Survivors include six children, Stuart Frost and his wife, Hollie, Danny Frost and his wife, Rosa, Bill Frost and his wife, Staci, Jacquie Cates and her husband, Joe, J'nine Dittus, and Angelique Frost and her husband, Donovan; 12 grandchildren, Josh, Lacey, Amber, Krystal, Campbell, Yolanda, Nathan, Ryan, Jesse, Hope, Shelbi and Vann; four great-grandchildren and one on the way; one brother, Bill Stuart; two sisters, Judy Mazucca and her husband, Frank, and Jayne Stuart and her husband, Bob; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
