Scotties Defeat Malta in Final Regular Season Clash

Team Earns Top Seed in 2B Playoffs, Host Tournament This Weekend

SCOTTIE PRIDE IS ALIVE AND ROARING!

Seattle's twelfth man has nothing on the Glasgow student section!

The constant, thundering racket of the biggest student crowd in years definitely carried an already very enthusiastic GHS volleyball team through good times and lean times, ending in a solid victory over Malta, 25-21, 16-25, 25-16, 25-19.

Scrappy and determined defensive efforts prevailed in the face of a much taller M'ette team, while shot selection and offensive intensity escalated for the Scotties as the game went on.

Glasgow also recorded a whopping 20 aces in the match to seal the deal and put GHS firmly on top of the conference.

As if vocal support and attendance weren't enough, members of the audience generously opened their wallets and supported GHS Pink Night, donating $261 to Relay for Life's fight against breast cancer.

Without reserve, Eugene's Pizza and Pizza Hut provided pizza certificates for anyone who served a ball over the net and connected with one of the pink-clad Scotties.

Thank you to everyone who participated.

Glasgow looks to host the 2-B District Tournament on Oct. 30-31. Four teams advance out of that tournament to compete in the Divisional Tournament held on Nov. 5-7, also being hosted by GHS.

This is a rare opportunity to catch the girls in tournament action at home.
