GHS Boys Ready For Bozeman

The Glasgow boys basketball team has been able to keep it cool, calm and collected throughout most of the year.

With a State B Tournament appearance coming Thursday, the Scotties show no change in how they are approaching the biggest tournament in their high school careers.

“We’re kind of just being ourselves,” said Chase Fossum. “Obviously once we get to Bozeman, we’ll lock in a little more.”

Scotties point guard Jason Thibault said that although the team wants to bring a title home for Glasgow, they have to make sure to stick to what they’re known best in doing.

“We just have to be ourselves out there,” Thibault said. “We have to go out there and play the game that we each know we can play. If we do that, we’ll be just fine.”

Scotties head coach Norm Braaten said that this team is unique in its own right because they tend to not let things distract them too much.

“They’re kind of goof balls, but they’re good kids,” Braaten said. “These kids have been in so many big pressure type of situations that I know this won’t bother them at all.”

Braaten said that the outcome of the tournament will also resort to the matchups against their opponents, especially the opening game against Jefferson.

“If we can handle the inside guys and stop them from getting easy baskets and stay out of trouble, we’re fine,” said Braaten.
