Glasgow Kiwanis Swim Team (GKST) had an amazing 2023 season, winning State Class C, despite not having a pool to practice in!
As Valley County begins preparing for a new pool, the Glasgow Kiwanis Swim Team is also responsible for additional costs. We are selling starting blocks for $5,000 on a first come basis. We only have eight lanes, so contact [email protected] to claim your name identified starting block.
There will be other additional costs such as lane ropes, backstroke flag poles, anchors, shade protection, etc. The blocks and other hardware are needed for construction in July 2024. The bleachers as well as the cement slab and covered awning are also areas that will need attention as they are a necessity in the hot summer months upon pool completion in 2025. Any amount you’re able to give is appreciated, all donors over $1,000 will be displayed around the new pool.
Hosting a swim meet brings a large financial benefit to the community.
This is also the team’s largest fundraiser with meet fees, concessions, programs, etc. The team will not have hosted a meet in two years, losing out on those proceeds to other area towns/teams.
GKST is looking forward to growing the team as we highlight the benefits of water exercise for living a healthy lifestyle while also encouraging friendly competition and improving self-esteem. We thank you for your continued support as we eagerly anticipate the new pool!
