    Hi-Line Sportsmen is again offering their Hunter Mentoring program this year. The impetus behind the program stemmed from Andrew McKean's work on the national R3 campaign (Hunter Recruitment, Retention, and Reactivation) and a 2016 survey of hunter participation showing a drop of 2.2 million hunters in the country.     Glasgow won their fifth game in a row and finished the regular season with a 5-0, 5-4 overall record. The Scotties downed the Wolves in Wolf Point 41-6 after running up the score to a running clock in the first half. The Dawgs made good on their opening drive when Toryn Richards scored on a quarterback keeper and Rex Monson added the PAT at 6:42.     Lustre Christian's volleyball squad fell to Scobey in their final match of the regular season. The Lions dropped a 16-25, 26-24, 15-25, 21-25, match to the Spartans on the road Oct. 17.     The Nashua Porcupines volleyball team finished their regular season with a win over the Brockton Warriors Oct. 17. Nashua won in front of a home crowd in three sets, 25-23, 25-16, 25-20.     Frazer lost their last match of the regular season Oct. 17 at home. The Bearcubs fell 2-25, 7-25, 11-25, to the North Country Mavericks. They enter the District 1C Volleyball Tournament as the 11th seed and will face sixth-seed Richey-Lambert in the opening round.     The Frazer boys cross country team put up 198 points at the State meet in Kalispell Oct. 21 to earn 17th place. Jarvis Goodbird led the Bearcubs with a time of 19:25.08. He finished in 31st place out of 113 runners in the boys Class C competition. Gabe Beston took 66th with a time of 21:02.63.     Hinsdale’s cross country runners closed out their 2023 season the State Championships in Kalispell Oct. 21. Zora Holt placed 12th out of 73 competitors in the girls Class C race. She ran the course at Rebecca Farm in 22:16.11. In the boys Class C race, Linden Holt ran a 22:26.68. He placed 89th out of 113 runners. Z.     Glasgow's volleyball team finished out their regular season last week, splitting a pair of conference games. The Scotties handed Wolf Point their first loss of the season in a three-set sweep 25-13, 27-25, 25-21, Oct. 19 in Glasgow before falling in four, 25-21, 19-25, 18-25, 23-25 on the road in Fairview the following day.     The sting of high natural gas prices to heat your home over the past two winters is expected to ease for the upcoming heating season, which runs November through March. Montana-Dakota Utilities anticipates natural gas prices to be about 30 percent less than last winter.
