The North Country Mavericks basketball team hosted the Scobey Spartans in Saco last Saturday. The Spartans won 63-41 despite a late 16-5 run in the fourth quarter by the Mavs. The Mavericks were led by Blaine Downing, who scored 15 points. Coy Bowman had 10 points. For the second year in a row, the North Country Mavericks Volleyball team was able to bring home Class C's third place trophy from the All-Class Volleyball Tournament in Bozeman, doing much of the heavy lifting. Zora Holt, who has already qualified for this year's State meet, finished in 13th place with a time of 24:10.79 in the girls race.
