Amber Erickson is all smiles after her North Country Mavericks won their first game at the 2022-23 Class C State Basketball Tournament in Billings March 9. Erickson coached her team to their first state championship with wins over the Chinook Sugarbeeters, 68-25; Manhattan Christian Eagles, 52-25, and Twin Bridges Falcons, 59-26.
On behalf of the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), Amber Erickson, girls basketball coach for the North Country Mavericks, was selected to receive the 2022-23 Montana Coach of the Year Award.
