The High School Ice Dawgs took a pair of games from the Flathead Fusion at home this weekend, winning both games by a four-point margin: 5-1 and 7-3.

Glasgow struck first in game one Saturday evening, putting two on the scoreboard in the first period. Colter Barnett netted goal number one on a power play with an assist from Mason Hunter. Peyton Hubbard scored the second with help from Aiden Price.

Flathead put a puck past Aidin Wilkowski in the second period but Michael Hoyer, assist Barnett, answered as Glasgow maintained their two-goal lead heading into intermission.

The Dawgs struck twice more in the final period to seal their victory. Both goals came from the captain, Barnett. Trevor Dulaney earned the assist on the first of those and Hunter was credited with helping on the second.

The Fusion were called for two penalties and the Ice Dawgs served time in the penalty box for six infractions. Hunter sat in the first for minor and Lex Fairclough was called for interference from the bench in the second. Hubbard, high sticking; Hunter, tripping; Gage Siefert, roughing and Fairclough, interference, sat in the third period.

Glasgow threw 44 pucks at the Fusion netminder while Wilkowski saw only 18 attempts on his net. He had a 94.4 save percentage in the win.

Back on the ice Sunday morning, Glasgow again took a 2-0 lead after 17 minutes. Dillon Hughes struck first with help from Connor Koski and Aiden Price midway through the first. Barnett, with an assist from Hoyer, notched the second Glasgow goal.

The Dawgs added two more goals in the second before the Fusion found their way past Kolten Hansen. Hubbard found the back of Flathead's net with an assist from Zevin Kummerfeldt less than a minute into the period. Barnett scored again with help from Tatum Hansen to take a 4-0 lead less than five minutes into the middle period.

Flathead scored midway through the second for a 4-1 Glasgow lead at intermission.

A high-scoring third period saw three Glasgow goals and two Flathead scores. Barnett, with an assist from goalie K. Hansen, scored first. Hoyer added an unassisted goal to the Dawgs' side of the scoreboard next.

Flathead found their way past K. Hansen twice more less than two minutes apart late in the period. Hubbard capped the scoring though 9 seconds after the Fusion's final goal with an assist from Tristan Powell.

All goals in the game were even-strength as there was only a single penalty called over the three periods of play. Dulaney served two minutes in the second for slashing.

Glasgow outshot Flathead by a margin of 42 to 22. K. Hansen had an 86.4 save percentage as the winning goaltender.
