19U Ice Dawgs Drop a Pair at Home

The 19U Ice Dawgs hit a rough patch this past weekend, dropping two games to the visiting Bozeman Ice Dogs. Glasgow struck first in game on Saturday, but after that it was all Bozeman. The Ice Dogs won 8-1 Saturday and 11-0 Sunday.

Kylie Lagerquist scored the lone goal for the Dawgs, striking at 14:02 in the first period Saturday evening with an assist from Tatum Provencher.

Bozeman took control of the puck though and threw puck after puck at Glasgow's netminder Delaney Rixford. She faced 15 shots in the first, 18 in the second and 19 in the third period. Bozeman had two goals in the first period and carried a 6-1 lead into intermission. They added two goals in the final period.

Glasgow put 11 pucks on the Ice Dogs goalie.

The home team was called for eight penalties while the visitors had only one infraction. Lagerquiest was called for slashing and roughing in the first while Provencher also served a roughing penalty in the first.

Lagerquist and Shanice Lagerquist were each called for tripping in the second. K. Lagerquist and S. Lagerquist were each called for unsportsmanlike conduct in the third with an automatic game misconduct called on K. Lagerquist for four penalties in the game.

Sunday morning fared not much better for the Ice Dawgs as Bozeman maintained steady pressure on Rixford and the Dawgs' defense. The Ice Dogs put 101 shots on the new Glasgow netminder, who had an 89.1 save percentage. Her teammates combined for seven attempts on the Bozeman net.

Glasgow turned in a cleaner game with only one infraction. S. Lagerquist was sent to the sin bin for checking in the second period.

The Ice Dawgs have this weekend off. They return to the ice Saturday, Jan. 22, for Senior Night with a game against Salmon at 4 p.m. at the Valley Event Center. The teams play again Sunday, Jan. 23, at 8 a.m.
