Glasgow Grapplers 10th at CMR Holiday Invitational

Glasgow's wrestling crew finished in 10th place at the 44th Annual CMR Holiday Invitational in Great Falls this past weekend. The Scotties earned 112 points to earn their 10th place finish out of 54 schools. The were the top Class B school at the tournament.

On the girls' side of the tournament, Shalynn Pedersen single-handedly earned the Scotties a 23rd place finish. The sophomore put up a 5-2 record in earning 4th place at 126 lbs. She earned 24 team points.

The Scottie boys entered the tournament sitting in the number 3 slot in the first Class B/C wrestling rankings. After Day 1 of the CMR Holiday Invite, the Scotties had 77 points and were sitting in 11th place.

Jake Kuka, Mason Donaldson, Damien Nesbitt, Devon Nesbitt and Kyler Hallock advanced in the tournament to Day 2 matches.

Donaldson made his way through the consolation bracket to earn a 7th place finish. He pinned Townsend's Riley Richtmyer in 4:06 in the 152 lbs. class.

Devon Nesbitt pinned Felix Peterson of Bozeman Gallatin on Friday in 5:36 to earn his trip to the semifinal round on Saturday.

He fell in the semifinals, but won in the consolation semifinals with a pin over Miles Hoerauf, Whitehall, in 2:44 in the 160 lbs. class. Devon Nesbitt went on to earn a Major Decision over Lewistown's Elam to finish in 3rd place. He had a 5-1 record at the tournament.

Kyler Hallock, 205 lbs., defeated Wolf Point's Mason Garfield 5-3 on Friday to move into Saturday's Semifinal round. He pinned Billings Senior's Charlie Desmarias in the semifinals to advance to the championship match.

In the championship match, Hallock faced Brendan Lockert of Great Falls High, a Class AA State Finalist. The Scottie came out strong, going up 8-0 early in the match. He doubled his points to earn a Major Decision over Lockert by a score of 16-5. Hallock earned the first championship for Glasgow since Matt Reyling won in 2016.
