Scottie Cross Country Crushing It

The Scottie cross country teams hit two different trails this past week with meets in Frazer and Billings. The Glasgow girls won in Frazer with a score of 80 over Plentywood, 96 and Scobey, 115. The boys team placed second with 35 points, behind Wolf Point, 33.

In Billings at the first ever Eastern Montana 7 on 7 hosted by Billings Lockwood, the boys placed fourth with a score of 39, behind Manhattan Christian, 11; Hardin, 13, and Laurel, 38. With only five runners, the Scottie girls placed ninth with a score of 65. Hardin, 9; Red Lodge, 19; Colstrip, 43; Custer County, 44; Poplar, 57; Manhattan Christian, 58; Havre, 59 and Huntley Project, 62, outpaced the Scotties.

On Frazer's three-mile track, Iris McKean led the Scottie girls with a time of 20:19.18 and a second place finish. Tanae Baker ran a 20:59.92 to finish in fourth place. Kheyerah Bilger finished in 116th place overall after completing the course in 25:14.69. Haylly Turner ran a 26:10.23 to finish in 25th place while Eve Stone finished in 33rd place with a time of 27:56.26.

The Scottie boys varsity team placed their six runners in the top 20. Reed Larsen led the team with his fourth place finish, running the race in 18:12.52. He was followed closely by Kyler Holinde who ran an 18L15.54 for fifth place. Lane Thompson came in sixth with his time of 18:29.42. Blake Lloyd earned a 12th place finish with his time of 19:41.36 and Eli Feezell ran a 20:37.81 for 19th place.

Ted See led the Scottie JV squad, finishing in 33rd place with a time of 22:48.73. Adam Mickelson ran a 23:37.32 for 39th place. Owen Thompson placed 47th with a time of 25:24.75. Dylan Hlad ran a 27:27.39 to take 51st place and James Seekins finished in 55th place with his time of 28:19.89.

In Billings, Lane Thompson earned the best time for the Scotties, running an 18:48.26 to place second in race three. Reed Larsen placed ninth in race one, finishing in 19:59.81. Kyler Holinde, in race two, also earned a ninth-place finish, running a 21:00.67.

Bergen Miller placed fifth in race four after running a 21:03.22. In race five, Dalton Sand ran a 20:38.15 to finish in fourth place. Blake Lloyd also earned a fourth-place finish, running a 21:17.38 in race six. Eli Feezell ran race seven for the Scottie boys, completing the course in 23:23.19 for a sixth-place finish.

Iris McKean paced the Scottie girls, earning second place in race one with her time of 21:31.77. Tanae Baker won race two, finishing in 22:19.56. Kheyerah Bilger finished in 13th place in race three with a time of 28:52.15. In race four, Haylly Turner ran a 28:57.19 to finish in 12th place. Eve Stone also earned a 12th place finish, running a 29:25.24 in race five.

The Scotties will attend the Miles City Invitational this Saturday, Oct. 2.
