911 Calls for Sept. 22, 2021

There were 21 motor vehicle stops, six animal control calls, six hazards, five assist citizen/public assists, two dog/cat control calls, one parking violation, one alarm and one inspection request.

Sunday, Sept. 5

• 0040 – An officer saw a vehicle across the tracks that got on the gas hard.

• 2145 – People sitting in a vehicle. Per an officer, spoke to the driver. He will be sleeping there for the night unless the officer finds he is not allowed to be there.

• 2225 – A woman reported a vehicle that has been driving back and forth by her house.

• 2237 – Per an officer, accident happened last night, vehicle backed into a pole. Per the officer, no apparent damage to vehicle or pole.

Monday, Sept. 6

• 1137 – Male reported he left his residence about an hour ago, while he was gone he said his son heard a noise and found the window to the screen door had been busted out. He isn't sure what happened to the door.

• 1636 – RP called in regarding a male hitchhiking. RP said she spoke with the man and he is hitchhiking from California to South Carolina. She gave him some food in hopes he'd move along because she didn't like him loitering in front of her apartment. An officer reported he found the male at the intersection of of US 2 and Scottie Pride Dr.

Tuesday, Sept. 7

• 0105 – Driver reported he hit a deer. It knocked his headlight out, no major damage. The deer ran away.

• 1027 – Transportation supervisor reported a bus stop sign violation.

• 1250 – Male caller reported his vehicle was hit while it was parked at the Duck Creek boat ramp on Saturday. He stated he came off the water at around 1600 to 1630 and noticed the damage to the rear driver's side of the vehicle. He was patched up with a deputy.

• 1415 – A vehicle was reported on the side of the roadway just on the other side of the fog line. RP said it is fine right now but should be moved as soon as possible as it will be a problem at night. Tried to reach the owner, no answer, left a message. A deputy was made aware. 1450 -The owner called, they are trying to get the vehicle moved today. They just fixed it this weekend and it broke down again today. They will have it moved today or tomorrow.

• 1624 – A male reported a vehicle backed into him and took off westbound on Front Street. The caller wasn't injured. He's still on scene.

Thursday, Sept. 9

• 1004 – A female called in to report that the people working on the road had their equipment running for four hours but no one is around. She stated she finds this odd that the equipment is running for so long but no one is around. An officer advised he will go check this out sometime today. 1044 – The officer advised he is there and they are using the vehicles now.

• 1622 – A female called in to make a report for fraud per her bank. She states she got an email from what she thought was Paypal. The email was a confirmation notice about a charge of $1,500. She said she knew this was wrong as she hadn't ordered anything in that amount. She called the number provided in the email. The subject wanted her account information. She told him she didn't believe him and thought this was wrong. He transferred her to a supervisor, then was transferred to another supervisor. Eventually they got into her computer while she was on the phone with them. She called her bank, they are starting a fraud packet for her. She will also have her computer guy check out her computer to make sure it is safe to use again.

Friday, Sept. 10

• 0240 – An officer reported he found a debit card. He will take the card to the police department. Found an alternative address for the individual and passed that on to the officer who said he was going to drive by the residence and see if anyone was up.

• 1508 – An officer advised he was able to stop traffic and get a semi backed out of the underpass.

• 1545 – A male called in stating he is with the construction crew working out on Tampico road. He said people are running the light and not waiting for the pilot car all the time. He would like to talk to an officer.

• 1648 – A male called in stating their vehicle is not where they parked it and he wanted to know if it had been towed. He said the last time he thinks he saw the vehicle was on Wednesday. Dispatch went through the calls and found this vehicle had been called in for being parked there for three weeks and had not been moved. Since it was parked on private property, the RP was told the owner of the P-lot would have to have it towed at their expense. Told him if he finds the vehicle to call back and also if it wasn't towed, to come in and sign it out stolen.

• 2130 – Caller reported a vehicle racing and drifting all the corners around St. Marie and bumping loud music. It has very bright LED headlights and is loud. He is willing to sign a complaint. At Marco gate, Marco security talking to this person. One citation for careless driving.

Saturday, Sept. 11

• 1033 – Caller reported he has some fence that got knocked down on Duck Creek Rd. A deputy advised she called the RP and let him know about this damage. She also found a fender and put it off the road. Will be looking for a vehicle missing a fender.

• 1508 – The City Water Department called in wanting to know if anyone called in a fire hydrant that has been hit and knocked over. Advised no one had. He said he didn't notice it when he went by a while ago so he believes it happened very recently.

• 1616 – FMDH requested an officer to come there to safely secure a weapon that came from the person that EMS brought in on an MVA. The gun has one in the chamber and the staff doesn't feel comfortable handling the weapon again as they had already put it in a lock box.

• 1943 – A female called in to report tannerite being fired at the gun range. She stated it is making their RV shake. She also stated they were firing it off last night as well. Talked to an officer who said he had heard two or three loud pops but they had stopped. A deputy called in and said due to the fact that the exploding of the tannerite had stopped and it wasn't even 2000 hours they were not going to investigate. BLM called in and stated they would go take a look.

• 2013 – A deputy found a wallet containing cash and credit cards as well as driver's license. The deputy made contact with the owner's wife and the owner returned and picked up his wallet.

Sunday, Sept. 12

• 0027 – Lights on in a parked vehicle. Just saw it downtown. Notified the owner, they will turn lights off.

• 0034 – Vehicle in front of the library sitting idling.

• 0154 – Caller wishing to remain anonymous reporting the neighbors are outside making lots of noise, drinking and yelling.

• 1912 – Caller reported a male, very intoxicated and saw him drinking this morning and now he had a hard time walking. She is willing to sign a complaint.
