The Glasgow Ice Dawgs’s Squirts traveled to Miles City this past weekend for their state tournament. The team lost their first two games but came back to beat the Havre Ice Hawks 5-1 to end the season with a win.

Glasgow played the Helena Big Horns and lost the game 6-4 even though they outshot their opponents 27 to 12. Hudson Honey netted a goal for Glasgow in the first period, but Helena had four goals at the same time. The Big Horns added a fifth goal in the second before Abigail Henry went on a spree for Glasgow, netting a natural hat trick with Honey assisting on the second and third goals. Helena added one more goal to end the game’s scoring. Honey also served Glasgow’s two penalties, sitting for tripping in the first and second.

The Ice Dawgs then faced the Icedogs of Bozeman and fell 8-1. Jaxson Kemp netted Glasgow’s goal in the first on an assist from Myracle Henry. Mary Knierim faced 30 shots in goal while the Dawgs’ offense put up 22 attempts. Glasgow was called for five penalties. In the first period A. Henry sat for roughing. M. Henry, roughing, and Kemp, tripping, were sent to the penalty box. In the third period, Honey and Kemp visited the sin bin for body checking calls.

In the game against the Havre Ice Hawks, Glasgow took a 2-1 lead in the first on goals from Ellery Dedobbeleer and Kemp. Knierim shut out the Hawks for the remaining two periods. The Ice Dawgs put up three more goals in the third to cement their victory. Kemp scored the first of the three goals and A. Henry netted the final two.

Glasgow put up 29 shots on goal in the game and Knierim turned away nine shots by the Hawks. The Ice Dawgs served eight penalties. Honey was called for tripping and Kemp was called for roughing in the first. Breckin Partridge, interference; Jaxon Beck, tripping and A. Henry, unsportsmanlike, served penalties in the second period. In the third period A. Henry and Honey were called for roughing and Tay Morehouse was called for tripping.
