Cross Country Teams Take Seconds in Culbertson

The Glasgow Cross Country teams traveled to Culbertson on Sept. 26 for the Culbertson Invitational. Both the girls and boys teams came home with second place finishes.

On the girls’ side, Iris McKean again led the team and the competition, taking first place overall with a time of 20:28.48. Emily See placed second overall with a time of 21:09.88. McKean and See were the only two Glasgow girls to place in the top 10.

Haylly Turner placed 15th overall with a time of 24:04.26 and 22nd overall was Eve Stone who ran the course in 25:16.18. Kira Beck rounded out Glasgow’s top five in an overall position of 27th with a time of 25:22.09. Glasgow’s cumulative time for the top five finishers was 1:56:20.89.

Shanice Lagerquist finished in 33rd and Elizabeth Nyquist in 35th, with times of 27:45.80 and 28:38.77, respectively.

Carl Zabrocki led the Scottie boys, taking third place overall with a time of 17:24.53. Lane Thompson also turned in a top 10 finish with his time of 18:28.02 earning him sixth place. Reed Larsen and Bergen Miller finished in spots 14 and 15, respectively. Larsen completed the course in 19:02.54 while Miller ran it in 19:07.67.

Blake Lloyd was Glasgow’s fifth finisher, coming in at 22nd with his time of 20:27.91. Glasgow’s cumulative time for their top five placers was 1:34:30.67.

Riley Smith placed 27th with his run time of 20:53.51 and Colter Cumber took 30th with a time of 21:07.38.

The Scottie girls and boys Cross Country teams will be at the Miles City Invitational Saturday, Oct. 3.
