Sprucing Up the Place

Community Clean Up Day

Two Rivers Economic Growth's fourth annual Community Clean Up Day was held April 22, and locals took advantage of the chance to get out of their homes to beautify the area. "We had more participation this year than we did last year, which is wonderful and I'm not sure if it was because of the nice weather or quarantine or possibly both," laughed Executive Director Keegan Morehouse.

She said TREG had 30 people sign up and take advantage of the clean up supplies provided at the office. The organization thanked T&R Trucking for donating garbage bags and garbage cans at designated areas, as well as dumping the garbage and collecting the cans that were collected. Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital donated water and gloves for volunteers, while Wade and Brenna Sundby and Duane and Doris Ozark generously donated funds for purchasing gift certificates from Two Rivers members, which were given away to volunteers.

Volunteers spread out across the area to give the community a good spring cleaning. Embracing the opportunity to enjoy the weather and improve their community, volunteers picked up trash, raked, cleaned and generally worked to beautify the town they proudly call home. Two Rivers rewarded volunteers for their time by distributing gift cards, with the added bonus of steering business to local establishments.
