Library COVID-19 Measures

To prevent the transmission of the novel coronavirus known as COVID-19, the Glasgow City County Public Library is taking precautionary safety measures As of now, the library will continue to stay open with limited services for two weeks. We will abide by all City, County, State and Federal mandates.

Effective immediately March 16, 2020, the following measures are being instituted:

Patrons are asked not to linger or hang out at the library. To drop off items and get what is needed.

All public events/programming will be suspended for two weeks. This includes story time and senior outreach programs.

If you are uncomfortable coming into the library, we are happy to fulfill your items. We can hand them off to you at the front door area. Please make prior arrangements.

All public computers and card catalog have been shut down. If there is something urgent and business related, patrons are asked to let the staff know.

Staff are assigned to disinfect all public surfaces multiple times per day.

Interlibrary Loan Service is suspended.

Use of the public meeting rooms will be suspended.

If you need to renew items, please call us at 228-2731, renew online if your items are not already overdue or email us through our website.

Please note that the Library is unable to comprehensively sanitize every single item in the collection, and, as such, patrons are advised to wash their hands after handling materials and avoid touching their faces. We would like to remind visitors that libraries are shared public places. Please do your part to stop the spread of germs and disease.

For the health and safety of others, please be thoughtful about coming to the library if you are exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms. If you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms and have items checked out, please call the Library before returning them. We will plan to extend your checkout and/or ensure that the items are disinfected before being returned to the collection. Please feel free to call us with questions, as things might change, we will do our best to keep you informed.
