The Glasgow Courier - Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Raymond 'Kent' Simonis

Raymond "Kent" Simonis, born Aug. 19, 1958, to Ray and Borgny Simonis, passed away Monday, March 18, 2019.

A burial and memorial service will be held in Glasgow, Mont., at a later date.

He graduated from Glasgow High School, in Glasgow, and attended and graduated from Carroll College in Helena, Mont. His career was in medical records administration and he worked for VA hospitals.

Kent worked in several cities across the U.S. and ended his career in Washington, D.C. He returned to Montana and enjoyed his second career as a radio announcer and sportscaster for Power 95 in Sidney, Mont. He became involved in many community activities.

Kent took great pride in his work and dearly loved his pets. He was a true one-of-a-kind, so the radio name he chose, 'Maverick,' suited him well.

Kent was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his mother; daughter; grandson; and sister.

His family and many friends all miss his great big personality.
