Scotties Fall to Wolf Point In Three Games

Homecoming vs. Poplar This Saturday

The Scotties had a large representation from the student body at the game in Wolf Point Sept. 30.

The Lady Scotties were in Wolf Point Sept. 29 to take on a determined squad on the night of their school's homecoming.

It turned out to be a tough night for them as the Lady Wolves took care of things in three straight games: 19-25, 17-25, 24-26.

Passing woes, which almost inevitably lead to a less-effective offense, plagued GHS for much of the game and overpasses to a very tall and athletic team was an immediate problem. But, credit also goes to Wolf Point. They blocked and hit very aggressively and left GHS spinning at times.

A close game three showed the Scotties fighting back, making smart decisions and amping up their own level of play. Leading the attack for GHS was Jesi Kennedy and Keely Fossum with six kills each, Baylie Chappell had nine digs, Rachelle Glaser had fifteen assists and two blocks, Ashtyn Myrick had three aces.

The JV team won in three and the C squad lost in three.

The next time these two teams will meet up will be at the 2-B District tournament, which Wolf Point is hosting, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 27 and 28.

Next up for Glasgow is their homecoming game vs. Poplar on Saturday, Oct. 7. The Saskatoon Police Pipes and Drums band will join in the festivities right before the varsity match begins. C Squad starts at 1 p.m.
