Highlanders Place Six In Denver

The Glasgow Highlanders wresting club traveled to Denver to compete in the Rocky Mountain Nationals over the weekend.

The Rocky Mountain Nationals hosted wrestling clubs from across the country. Glasgow’s club saw six wrestlers place in the event in what coach Jory Casterline thought was a good showing for his club overall.

Grady Nielsen placed fourth overall in the 8 and under 97 pound division. Tel Aune took fifth in the 12 and under 146 division. Skye Buckles placed third in the 12 and under 146 division. In the 12 and under 165 division, Trevor Overvold placed fourth in what was a really impressive showing against tough competition.

Cooper Allen placed fifth in the 13-15 Rookier 123 division winning two of his four matches during the tournament. Rounding out the wrestlers that placed in the tournament for the Highlanders is Matt Reyling who took fifth in the 15 and under 83 division.

In the end, Glasgow posted 38 total points in the event. The tournament saw over 340 teams participate.
