Time For A Nice Stroll

The annual Christmas Stroll to celebrate the holiday season arrives in downtown Glasgow at noon this Saturday, Nov. 30, and last until 5 p.m.

Those participating in the stroll with local merchants get a chance to win $100 in Chamber Big Bucks. Receipts for any purchases made that day can be turned in to the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture office by Thursday, Dec. 5, for a chance to be reimbursed for up to $100 of that person's purchases for the day. The winner will be notified Dec 6.

The strolling set can enjoy chili and warm cider at the Children's Museum of Northeast Montana throughout the event. The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Santa, Mrs. Claus and their Elf will make a guest appearance in town at 12:45 p.m. The Glasgow Fire Department will serve as the big man's sleigh, taking him to visit Prairie Ridge Village at 1 p.m, Shopko at 1:15 p.m., Nemont Manor at 1:30 p.m., Valley View Home at 2 p.m., and the grande finale at Pehlke's Furniture from 2:30-4:30 p.m.

A free kids' matinee, "Rise of the Guardians," sponsored by FMDH and Albertson's, will be showng at Valley Cinemas from 1-2:30 p.m.

While the kids are at the matinee, older folks can stroll from Glasgow merchant to Glasgow merchant to shop for that special someone. Those who stick around downtown, can enjoy the Christmas Light Parade at 5:30 p.m., sponsored by the Optimist Club.

The 10th annual Parade of Lights line-up will start behind FMDH at 5 p.m. Chamber big bucks will be awarded for the following parde categories: Most Lights, Musical Theme, Best Youth Organization, Best Business, Best Adult Organization.

Shopping local is made easy with the help of First Community Bank Glasgow/Hinsdale, Valley Bank and Independence Bank with Christmas Cash. Up to $1,000 can be borrowed interest free. This cash can be used at participating Christmas Cash merchants. The chamber also will award a local business $50 in Chamber Big Bucks for the best decorated Christmas window display.
