    The Lustre Christian Lions hit the court for two volleyball matches on the road last week. The Lions fell to the Bulldogs in Bainville Oct. 5 in three sets, 10-25, 18-25, 23-25 before losing to the North Country Mavericks in Hinsdale Oct. 7, also in three sets, 22-25, 20-25, 13-25.   • GMS Football Season Concludes

    The 2023 Glasgow Middle School football season concluded last week with a trio of games. The Scotties defeated the Wolf Point Wolves in a thrilling double overtime game at home Oct. 5 by a score of 32-30. Glasgow hosted the Malta Mustangs Oct. 7 for their final games. Glasgow fell 20-6 in the seventh grade match up and 20-12 in the eighth grade game. The Scotties will return to the field for the 2024 season under returning head coach Trint Gamas....

    The Nashua volleyball team packed in three matches last week, traveling to Glasgow, Scobey and Lambert. The Porcupines lost their first match to the Scottie JV squad 13-25, 10-25, 20-25 Oct. 2. Nashua fell in Scobey Oct. 6 in three sets, 7-25, 3-25, 7-25. In Lambert for the Richey/Lambert Invite Oct. 7, the Porcupines hit the court against the Froid/Lake Redhawks and the MonDak Thunder. Nashua was defeated by the Redhawks 9-25, 20-25, 18-25 and lost 14-25, 10-25, 9-25 to the Thunder. Nashua will be in Lustre Saturday, Oct. 14, for a 6 p.m....

    Frazer’s volleyball team hosted the Scobey Spartans Oct. 3. The Bearcubs dropped the match in three sets, 10-25, 4-25, 7-25.     The Bearcubs competed in the second-to-last regular season cross country weekend Oct. 7. Frazer traveled the Hi-Line over to the Malta Invite held at Marian Hills Golf Course. The boys team took third place with 40 points, placing behind Havre, 12 and Harlem, 14. Jarvis Goodbird placed the Bearcubs with a time of 19:26.1 and a seventh place finish out of 47 competitors.     Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks along with the Montana Department of Health and Human Services are advising hunters to have their deer, elk and moose tested for chronic wasting disease (CWD). FWP strongly recommends that hunters receive a negative CWD test result before bringing their deer, elk or moose to a meat processor or donating it to a food bank.
