Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
A new episode of “Backroads of Montana” will premiere at 8 p.m. Monday, May 20, on Montana PBS.
Longtime producer John Twiggs will host the episode, “A Recipe for Community,” from Schmeckfest, a homespun high school fundraiser that serves up a German buffet in the northeastern Montana town of Lustre.
The episode also takes viewers to Canyon Creek to meet a family who built an arena on their property to ensure future generations can enjoy the sport of “O-Mok-See” on horseback; to one of Butte’s most storied neighborhoods, Meaderville, via a red sauce recipe that has been preserved for generations; to the Fort Belknap Reservation to explore the Hole-in-the-Wall hike in the Mission Canyon; and to Antelope in far northeastern Montana to meet a group of dedicated volunteers who pull off a highly anticipated arts performance for audiences who come for dinner and entertainment.
