Scottie Softball Ends With A 6-10-1 Season

The Scottie softball team went 1-1 last week to enter the final week of the regular season with a 6-10-1 record. Glasgow fell at home May 2 to Havre 10-1 in seven innings but earned a 13-3 road win over Glendive May 4.

The Blue Ponies took a 1-0 lead after two innings and increased their lead to 8-0 after four. The visitors scored twice more in the seventh and shut the Scotties out in the bottom of the inning to earn the win.

Glasgow was outhit 12-4 in the game and committed two errors while Havre played a clean game.

Brynn Donaldson took the loss in the pitcher's circle, going three and one-third innings. She allowed eight runs and nine hits with eight errors and five strikeouts. Brynlie Boreson pitched in relief for three and two-thirds innings. She allowed two runs on three hits with seven strikeouts.

Tessa Miller had two hits for Glasgow with Berkley Hillman and Kelbi Wersal adding one each.

The Scotties hit the field harder against Miles City, racking up six runs in the first inning. Miles City scored twice in the bottom of the third, but Glasgow added two runs in the fifth and one in the sixth for a commanding lead. Miles City matched Glasgow in the bottom of the sixth, but the Scotties scored four more times in the seventh for the 10-run win.

Glasgow had nine hits and four errors to Miles City's one hit and two errors.

Macy Martin earned the win for Glasgow in four innings in the circle. She allowed two runs while getting two strikeouts. Donaldson pitched three innings in relief, giving up one run and one hit with four strikeouts.

Riley Clampitt went 3-for-5 at bat, including a home run in the fifth inning. She also had three RBIs. Martin, Miller, Halle Hunter, Hayden Green, Tatum Nyquist and CharLee McColly notched one hit each. Martin had two RBIs while Miller, Hunter, Hillman, Green and Nyquist added one a piece to the stats.

McColly had two stolen bases to lead the Scotties. Miller, Hunter and Hillman had one each.

The Scotties will attend the East/West B/C Challenge in Cut Bank this Friday and Saturday, May 10-11, before entering the postseason at home, May 16-18.
