Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Valley County Community Foundation Announces Grant Awardees

The Valley County Community Foundation Chair Doris Leader is thrilled to announce that $45,210 is going back into our community to fund projects across Valley County. The 2024 Grant Application process was very competitive with 19 applications for requests of over $98,000.

The Foundation board was thoroughly impressed with the community projects going on throughout the county that ensure our communities will continue to thrive for years to come. The establishment of the Foundation was solely to provide access to capital to be used for the benefit of the community in perpetuity for economic, cultural, and charitable projects. This is evident by the commitment to community organizations and as residents of Valley County, we should be extremely proud of what has been built.

The Foundation board would like to announce the following 2024 grant awardees:

• Hinsdale FFA to upgrade lawn mowing equipment.

• Nashua Senior Citizens for new plank flooring in the Senior Center.

• NEMT Stat Air for new educational mannequins and ECG simulator.

• Valley County HOPE Project for dinner and serve ware for fundraising events.

• City of Glasgow for the new lighting in the basement of the City-County Library.

• Glasgow Kiwanis Swim Team/Kiwanis Foundation of Montana for new lane ropes.

• First Lutheran Church to update the ADA restrooms.

• City of Glasgow for the pool house construction.

• Valley County Health Department to provide hygiene products to all Valley County middle and high schools.

• The Connection Youth Center to update flooring.

Grants are funded through the earnings of the endowment which allows non-profit 501c3 organizations and local governments to apply annually at the end of March. Since the Valley County Community Foundation inception in 2000, over $435,000 has been distributed back to Valley County for various projects!

As the VCCF celebrates its 25th year, we look forward to showcasing the great work done in Valley County. Stay tuned for more information and highlights.
