Lustre Boys Set 13 PRs in Sidney, Girls Set 5

The Lustre Christian boys track team scored 35 points at the Sidney Invitational to finish in seventh place. The Lions put up 13 personal records and three season bests while the girls track team established five new personal records.

GIRLS

Jaden Gibson set a personal record in the 100 meters at 17.07 to take 85th out of 95 runners.

Abby Olfert set a personal best in the 200 meters at 31.45 to take 33rd out of 64 racers. Gibson ran a 36.64 for 63rd place.

Meredith Valentine threw 21’5.5 in the shot put to take 57th out of 78 competitors. Sarah Dahl tied for 76th at 16’5 and Cassidy Grider threw 15’9 for 78th place.

Dahl took 60th out of 64 in the discus with a 40’3 throw while Grider threw 30’10 for 64th place.

Valentine led the Lions in the javelin with a 40th place showing out of 58 and a 54’6 throw. Dahl threw 40’5 for 52nd and Grider finished in 58th at 30’0.

Lauryn Holzrichter cleared a personal best 4’2 in the high jump to tie for 22nd place out of 25 competitors.

Gibson set a personal record in the long jump at 12’3.5 for 47th place out of 55 competitors.

Holzrichter set another personal best in the triple jump at 27’10 to finish in 29th out of 34 in the event.

BOYS

Terran Jospeh placed third in the 100 meters, out of 85, with an 11.67 time. Brian Guedues ran a 12.65 for 28th place and Ifeanyi Aniobi took 53rd at 13.18.

Joseph also paced the Lions in the 200 meters, taking sixth out of 66, with a 24.97 time. Emeka Aniobi ran a personal best 27.34 to take 29th while Joseph Lee’s personal best 28.84 earned him 59th place.

E. Aniobi placed 22nd out of 47 in the 400 meters with a season-best 59.51. Hadden Olfert set a personal record at 59.96 to take 25th while Lee’s personal best 1:08.71 put him in 40th place.

Prestyn Klatt led the boys in the 800 meters with a personal record 2:19.20 and a 15th place out of 41 runners. Clay Reddig took 27th with a personal best 2:21.22 and Cayden Klatt’s season record 2:39.11 earned him 36th place.

P. Klatt also led the Lions in the 1600 meters with a personal best 5:04.50 and 10th out of 43 racers. Diek Olfert took 27th with a personal record time of 5:36.54 while Reddig’s personal best 5:58.83 put him in 37th place.

Johnslee Pierre won the 300m hurdles with a time of 43.05, beating 19 other runners.

Guedes, Byron Ewing, Joseph and Pierre combined for a 3:39.61 in the 4x400 relay and a fourth place showing out of 15 teams.

Mason Hilkemann threw 36’9.5 in the shot put to take 20th out of 75 competitors. Jacob Rigby set a personal record at 21’6 for 72nd place.

Hilkemann laso led the Lions in the discus with a 97.9 throw and 23rd place out of 58 throwers. H. Olfert threw 79’3 for 31st followed by C. Klatt in 33rd at 78’0. Rigby took 53rd with a personal best 52’9 throw.

C. Klatt threw a personal best 102’4 in the javelin to take 35th out of 55 competitors. Reddig finished in 40th at 86’1.

Guedes took third in the long jump, out of 53, with a personal best 20’5.25 jump. Joseph’s season-best 10’9.25 jump put him in seventh place.

In the triple jump, D. Olfert earned 13th out of 32 with a 36’5 distance. P. Klatt took 23rd at 33’7.

Joseph, 100 meters, and Pierre, 300m hurdles and triple jump, have both pre-qualified for the Class C State Track Meet with their performances this season.

The underclassmen Lions were in Wolf Point April 23 for the Scobey Froshmore Meet but results were unavailable at press time.

Lustre Christian will split their athletes between the Glendive Shriners Invitational and the Whitewater HS Invitational Friday, April 26.

The 42nd Annual Norm Girard Top 10 Track Meet will be held Tuesday, April 30, in Glasgow.
