Law Enforcement Report

For the week of Jan. 8 through 14, there were two motor vehicle stops, one report of a missing dog, one report of a missing cat, and one report of a vehicle hitting deer.

Tuesday, Jan. 9

1227 – Caller reported an accident. He said he didn’t think anyone was injured. One person is out of their vehicle and the other is still in the vehicle. He advised the power pole is broken and the wires are down. There are no arcing or sparking at this time. At 1248, officer advised the road is clear and Northwestern Energy is on scene.

1350 – Caller reported her son went off the road. She went and picked up him and they are going to call Thompson’s to have them go get the vehicle. It was advised there is damage to the vehicle, so dispatch stated they needed to go back to the vehicle’s location and wait for the officer. At 1423, a deputy arrived to take photos.

1432 – Amtrak called in to advise they have a train coming in about 20 minutes. It is having electrical issues and will be stopped here until the problem is resolved. The caller stated they contacted the local hotel as they have to house the people on the train. Caller also stated he will be monitoring the situation and will let dispatch know when the train is back in service with its passengers. At 1548 it was advised they have departed.

1954 – Reporting party requested an officer because her grandson arrived intoxicated. He is stomping around and yelling, which dispatch could hear in the background. When asked about weapons, the call disconnected. Deputies were notified. Later dispatch contacted the reporting party and it was verified there were no weapons and he was not threatening anyone.

2022 – Someone, who wishes to remain anonymous, wished to file a speed complaint. She stated there is a young guy who drives a pickup. The caller said he is speeding like he is trying to spin out. She is concerned because there are young kids in the area and doesn’t want to see them get hurt.

2026 – Reporting party stated her upstairs neighbors have visitors over who are not supposed to be there because of the noise they make. She was outside and they grabbed two or three bags of stuff from their vehicle. She asked if they had plans of staying the night and she told them they are not supposed to be there. The reporting party stated she messaged her landlord but it also needs to be documented to the police. An officer was notified who later advised he spoke with both parties and everything is okay. The kids had spilled something and she was cleaning it up, which was the reason for the noise. At 2248, the reporting party called back stating the neighbors are being loud and she has recordings of the noise. Officer was again notified and stated a conversation would be had with the landlord the next day. At 0040 on Jan. 10, the reporting party called again stating the people upstairs who are visiting her neighbor are running in and out; stomping around and big loud trucks are stopping there also. The caller wonders if they’re running drugs. She said she went out and talked to them about the noise, and they claimed they were playing a game. The reporting party also said the man has left and returned numerous times with the baby. She wants an officer to speak to them tonight and tell them to be quiet or leave. At 0053, the officer spoke to the individuals again and advised the reporting party speak with the landlord regarding the noise problem as it’s a civil issue.

2330 – Reporting party called and said there are loud trucks cruising up and down 3rd St. S. They are speeding and revving their engines and possibly doing burnouts or donuts at the end near the hospital. She has a baby trying to sleep and this keeps waking her up. The caller advised this has happened before but this is the first time she has called it in, as she is fed up with it. She stated it’s quiet now but expects they’ll be back in an hour or so. She wants an officer to speak to them. An officer was notified who stated the driver is known to him and he will deal with it tomorrow as he needs to talk to that person about another issue.

Wednesday, Jan. 10

0709 – Reporting party called in to report she had bought something for her daughter off of Amazon. It was shipped through UPS and UPS shows the package was delivered on Jan. 5 but the package was never received. Her daughter asked her neighbors if they had accidentally gotten the package by mistake but no one has seen it nor was it delivered to a different address as far as they know. The reporting party states she was told by Amazon they need a police report so they can send another package to her daughter. The reporting party will call back later to get a copy of this report.

1928 – Caller reported her neighbor downstairs is using her plug in. She said the neighbor is new and may not know that it’s her plug in. She doesn’t know the name of the neighbor. The caller was patched through to an officer. At 1955, reporting party called back and was again patched through the same officer.

2034 – Reporting party requested that an officer drive by the lot. She reported a pick up and another pick up are tearing around the neighborhood. She stated you can see their marks in the snow from spinning in the street. She’s afraid their vehicles will get hit so they moved them.

1147 – Reporting party called to advise that at the apartments she manages, last night one of her tenant's car alarm went off. The owner didn’t know but when the reporting party heard it this morning she thought something may be wrong with the tenant but when she called him he was fine. He went out to his car, and found tracks around the vehicle and where someone had tried to get in his car but it was locked. Then the tracks went back to the vehicle they were in. Reporting party is requesting extra patrol at night, just in case someone may be trying to do something to other vehicles in the area. An officer was notified who will send out an e-mail about the extra patrol for this location.

Thursday, Jan. 11

1651 – Caller reported they had shoplifting occur about an hour ago. He doesn’t know the suspect’s name but he has it on video. He believes the officer will know the person when they see the video.

1917 – Caller reported that a car hit the first bridge on the Tampico Road. There are no injuries. A second call came in a few minutes later regarding the accident. A deputy was notified who requested a message be left for DOT.

Friday, Jan. 12

0552 – Caller reported a door alarm. An officer arrived, walked around and checked everything. It all appears to be secure and it could be the wind jiggling a sensor.

1135 – Caller reported a train parked on the railroad tracks since yesterday at 1400 hours. BNSF RR was notified and an automated questionnaire was provided to dispatch. The automated message then stated a report was submitted to the entity that would handle the situation. About 10 minutes later, a second call was received reporting the same thing.

1518 – Reporting party said he received animal cruelty complaints against an individual. He said the person has two horses that are not being fed. He thought an officer may want to respond. At 1556, it was reported a deputy advised there was no contact with the owner, however the officer took photos. The horses had water, no hay.

2108 – A business manager said one of her employees received a phone call from someone stating the business is up for a federal audit. They requested money be sent and threatened if they tell anyone about the phone call, they’ll be arrested. The caller was transferred to an officer.

2127 – Reporting party stated her car blew up and her help is a half hour plus minutes out. She would like someone to come so they have a warm vehicle to sit in. At 2210, the road was clear.

2207 – Tribal Security reported an abandoned vehicle and there was no one around. Per deputy RCSO was notified to see if they can locate the owners and to state if it isn’t moved it will get towed.

Saturday, Jan. 13

0013 – Multiple calls were received regarding the power being out. Callers were advised to call their power company directly so they can map the extent of the outage. At 0031, Northwestern Energy was notified and they estimate about 0230 for power to Nashua and Glasgow to be restored. At 0050, NorVal was notified who stated they had some outages in Saco. Dispatch did notify necessary parties where they knew the power was off at.

1744 – Caller reported he just lost power at his residence and it looks like it happened to the whole town. Caller was advised to call his power company so they have an idea of the extend of the power outage.

1745 – Caller reported when the power went out, it tripped the alarm. They are currently working on resolving the issue in case dispatch receives a call about the alarm.

1855 – Caller reported she received a call saying the door was open. The reporting party is going across town to pick up another person and would like for the officers to meet them there. The officer advised at 1903, everything was okay.

Sunday, Jan. 14

0131 – Reporting party stated a vehicle looks like it slid off into the ditch. Hazards are on and it looked like the airbags may have deployed. She didn’t see anyone outside of the vehicle but didn’t want to get out and check as she wasn’t dressed for it. A deputy arrived on scene and verified there is no one around. At 0156, deputy made contact with the registered owner. They are all okay from the accident, and didn’t realize they needed to call it in.
