Scottie Boys Drop Heartbreaker to Sidney

The Scottie boys dropped a heartbreaker to Sidney after a back-and-forth second half Dec. 15 in Glasgow. The home team took a 14-8 lead in the first but a buzzer-beater by Sidney put the Eagles up 25-23 at the half. The Scotties outscored the visitors 12-10 in the third but found themselves down by three – 51-48 – when the final buzzer sounded.

Cade Hudyma led all scorers with 16 points. Wyatt Babb added 14 for Glasgow. Myles Yoakam connected for 8, Toryn Richards 7 and Connor Hudyma 3 points. Richards pulled down 12 rebounds followed by Co. Hudyma with six, Yoakam and Babb 5 each, Ca. Hudyma 4 and Nick Solorzano 1 board. Richards also led in steals with three while Yoakam and Babb had one a piece. Babb and Richards both had four assists for Glasgow while Yoakam had two helpers. Ca. Hudyma had two blocks. Co. Hudyma and Yoakam knocked down one Sidney shot each.

Glasgow's JV squad fell 50-37 in their contest. Gage Waarvik led the team with 10 points followed by Andy Hanson with 9 and Noah Runner with 8 points. Wyatt Sugg scored 7, Trey Graham 4 and Cash Stulc 1 point.

The Scottie C squad also lost their game, 37-29. Liam Chapman scored 12 in leading Glasgow. Waarvik scored 4 while Gavin Redstone, Braxton Potter and Tripp Mavity scored 3 each. Drew Simensen and Tayven Bietz added 2 each. Glasgow won a game Dec. 8 against the Nashua JV team, 62-21. Graham scored 19 to lead Glasgow followed by Runner with 11 and Waarvik with 10 points. Stulc scored 9, Kyler Whitman 8, Chapman 4, and Davis Tolzien and Mavity 2 a piece.

Glasgow hosts the Wolf Point Wolves Thursday, Dec. 21, for C, JV and Varsity girls and boys games. Games will be at 3:30, 5, 6:30 and 8 p.m. in Scottie Gymnasium. The Scotties will be in Rocky Boys Friday, Dec. 22.
