LDS Nativity Open House Brings Culture With Music And World Scenes

For their eighth year, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Airport Road in Glasgow once again provided holiday cheer during their annual Nativity Open House on Dec. 3. In addition to viewing a variety of different nativity scenes from all around the world, guests were treated to musical talents from local artists including singing and instrumental.

Christine Gilchrist, who is also the Irle Elementary music teacher, and her violin students kicked off the open house with three holiday songs, and then Gilchrist herself followed along with Pam Marks, of Glasgow, for a duet.

In addition to the standard Nativity scenes one might be familiar with, attendees were able to view a variety of other nativities from different parts of the world including Peru, Germany, Italy, Argentina, among others. Those different interpretations of Nativity brought a wide variety of conversation and awe to those who viewed all of the different displays.
