Dickinson Resident Enjoys Time In Glasgow
Annika Plummer, of Dickinson, N.D., visited Glasgow during the summer and snagged a memento photo in the Courtyard of the Loaded Toad during her visit. Her visit was due to winning the Nowhere Like Northeast Montana Summer Giveaway provided by Montana's Missouri River Country. She has plans to return to further explore the area and surrounding communities.
As a way to boost tourism in northeastern Montana, Missouri River Country Tourism Region in northeast Montana, which includes Valley County, held a contest in June to entice people to make memories together in Montana's Missouri River Country. Participants had the option to win one of two prize packages to Wolf Point or Glasgow.
The Glasgow package included community donated prizes such as a two night stay at the Cottonwood as well as gift certificates from Agland, Sunny Side Golf Course, Blend 10, Busted Knuckle and Eugene's Pizza as well as Chamber Big Bucks. The Wolf Point package included two Cape Air tickets from Billings to Wolf Point, two night stay at the Sherman Inn, gas certificates from Agland, a copy of Stick Reindeer Races by local author Lisa Dunn, picnic blanket from Northeast Montana Health Services, a bag of Bequet Caramels made in Bozeman donated by local Realtor Laura Krauth, LK Realty and a free copy of "Wolf Point, a City of Destiny" courtesy of the Presser family. These community prizes allowed the winner to experience the welcoming communities, outdoor adventure and the area's natural beauty.
The winner of the Glasgow package was Annika Plummer, of Dickinson, N.D., who had never been to Glasgow before. While visiting, she enjoyed as many sights as she could, including venturing out to Fort Peck to see a show at the Fort Peck Summer Theatre. Though she wishes the Children's Museum renovation had been complete, she is looking forward to visiting the area again to see the the completed project.
"I had an absolutely fabulous time!," exclaimed Plummer after getting back home after the trip. She also shared her joy at visiting the area on social media, providing positive reviews of Glasgow and Missouri River Country for gifting her this trip.
