North Country's CharLee McColly slams the ball over the net and against the defense of Lustre Christian's Grace Brown.
The North Country Mavericks defeated the Lustre Christian Lions Oct. 7 in Hinsdale, in the Mavericks' lone match up last week. North Country started slow in the first set but played stronger and faster in the following two games to win the match in three, 25-22, 25-10, 25-13.
North Country had 15 aces, 27 kills, 28 assists, 28 digs and six blocks. Paige Wasson and Teagan Erickson led in aces with six and four, respectively. Erickson had 10 kills followed by Wasson with seven and Kendall Scheffelmear with six. Kennedy Simonson put up 21 of the Mavericks' assists. Erickson and BaiLee McColly both stopped two Lions' shots while Scheffelmear and CharLee McColly blocked one shot each.
North Country was in Harlem Oct. 10 to play the Wildcats but scores were unavailable at press time.
The Mavericks will host Culbertson and MonDak in Saco Saturday, Oct. 14 for a doubleheader with action beginning at 1 p.m.
