Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

David O. Olguin, Jr.

David O. Olguin, 68, of Glasgow, Mont., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023, in Billings, Mont. He was a resident of Milk River Inc., Glasgow.

David was the only child born to his natural parents during their marriage. At the time of his birth, he was diagnosed as having Cerebral Palsy. David was placed in the Butte Soroptimist Home for Dependent Children where he lived from 1957 until 1968. His father took him home to Butte, Mont., during which David attended Washington School, ungraded classes. In 1969, his father needed hospitalization and surgery, so David was placed in Warm Springs State Hospital in 1969. David's father showed much concern for him and made frequent contact with him, often taking him home for weekend visits. David was admitted to Boulder River School and Hospital in 1970. He resided in an institution for over 14 years prior to being placed in Anaconda, Mont., until he was placed in Malta, Mont., in 1993.

David moved to Glasgow in 1995 where he proceeded to make his permanent home with his "adopted family." If David loved you, you were adopted as a new family member. He was "son, dad, uncle" to many of the staff and friends at Milk River. David loved traveling, eating out, and drinking his coffee with his friends. One of David's favorite things was to go to the Oasis for dinner and an O'Doul's. He had quite the collection of hats, keys, pens, and coffee mugs, and was always wanting more. David's wallet, which had all his credit cards and fishing license in it, was very important to him. David enjoyed going to church and having coffee with his friends there.

He was preceded in death by his father David Olguin and his mother Vernita Burland Beaver Olguin.

Survivors include all his "adopted family" at Milk River Inc.

A visitation was on Sunday, Sept. 17, from 5 7 p.m. at Bell Mortuary, Glasgow. Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 18, at Bell Mortuary followed by burial in Highland Cemetery.
