“Another good race for the Glasgow Middle School XC team Saturday on a little tougher course and a hot, dry day at the Poplar Invitational,” head coach Will Larsen said of his harriers. The Scottie boys won the meet with 35 team points.

“On the boys side the majority of our young men stayed right around their previous week’s time,” Larsen said. Jack Milam led the team which placed four runners in the top seven, and seven in the top 20 with two runners setting personal records.

“Six of our young ladies improved their times from the previous week in Wolf Point – highlighted by Romie Zumbahl shaving over 1:50 off her time – on their way to a 6th place finish,” Larsen said. The Scottie girls scored 143 points. Two Glasgow girls hit personal best times while four set new season times.

“Very happy with how this team is coming together and learning to push through the mental blocks that come with being an XC runner,” the head coach said. “I’m really looking forward to watching these kids take that next step on Saturday at the Havre Invitational.”

The Havre Cross Country Invite will be held at the Prairie Gardens Golf Course Sept. 9. The middle school boys race begins at 11:30 a.m., followed by the girls race at noon.
