We had pool play against Broadus, Miles City JV and Jordan. Each pool play match was two sets capped at 25 points. Most points won the match. Then we started tournament play which was best of three: 25-25-15 each set. Mavericks won the tournament beating Circle, Forsyth and avenging a previous loss to Broadus.

North Country’s JV team played at the Malta tournament Aug. 26 for two sets of pool play. The Mavericks lost to the Chinook Sugarbeeters 23-25 and defeated Wolf Point 25-25.

The Mavericks host the Plentywood Wildcats in Saco Friday, Sept. 1, with games beginning at 3 p.m. They will compete in the Chinook Tournament Saturday, Sept. 2.
