Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Fundraiser Fights Fire At The Bank Of Glasgow This August

As a thank you for all of the hard work firefighters have put in across Valley County this summer, throughout the month of August Bank of Glasgow is running a fundraiser where people can donate money to various fire departments in the county by placing money in boots located in the bank's lobby.

According to Branch Manager Greg Stordahl, in the first week of running the fundraiser a total of $800 was raised for the firefighters. He attributes a decent amount of this total to a successful kickoff which included the running of a lemonade stand in front of the building during a sweltering summer week.

The bank's fundraisers have become a tradition of sorts, starting or running one every time that Stordahl leaves the office for vacation. Though that is not the only motivator for the bank. Last year they gave back by running a food donation for the local food bank, something that is still open right now. This year the bank decided to add on to their fundraiser by supporting the Valley County firefighters due to the inordinately large number of fires within the county this summer. The organizers want to thank the firefighters for the many hours they put in to keep residents safe.

For more information about the fundraiser you can call The Bank of Glasgow at: 406-228-4364, or stop in to donate at: 110 6th St. S in Glasgow.
