K. Tatufu Girls 8 & Under High Point Winner
The Glasgow Kiwanis Swim Team brought home 28 top-five finishes – five of which were first places – from the Scobey Invitational held June 17 and 18.
Kila Tatafu won the girls 100 IM 8 & under as well as the 25 breast. She also took second place in the 25 fly to earn high point winner for the girls 8 & under category. Kimber Dulaney won the girls 100 back 15-19, Holt Huntsman took first in the boys 50 fly 11-12 and Jack Miller earned the top spot in the boys 200 free 13-14.
Head Coach Ethan Schrader was full of praise for his Thunder. "We had a great meet. Lillee Holzworth swam her first meet ever and had an amazing 25 freestyle. Kimber Dulaney swam her first ever 400 Free and swam an incredible race. She swam a 5:58 which got her second place, and when she is in a heat with those girls, I think she will swim amazing. She also won the 100 backstroke. Abigail Kulczyk swam a great 200 IM and a hard fought 50 Fly for third place. Holt Huntsman swam an amazing 200 freestyle and 50 butterfly, the 200 free came down to the last 5 meters and Holt was out-touched."
Molly Miller, Huntsman, Finley Tatafu, Kulczyk, Nikolas Kulczyk, J. Miller, Dulaney, Haleigh Huntsman and Brynlie Harris, the girls 8 & under 100 free relay team, girls 11-12 200 free relay and girls 11-12 200 medley relay also earned positions in the top five.
"Overall, the team is looking great, and I am so proud of everything they have done so far with all the difficulties this year," Schrader enthused.
The Thunder will attend the Roundup Invitational Saturday and Sunday, June 24-25.
