Appreciate The Hard Work Done At Grave Sites

Dear Editor,

When I arrived at the Highland Cemetery to get set up for placing flags on veteran grave sites on May 27th I was blown away with, first the entry gate and secondly by the way the cemetery looked. The flowers and new gate really made a welcoming sight and were beautifully displayed. The entire cemetery was meticulously manicured and looked peaceful as a cemetery should. The work that Dan Miller and his crew put in showed the great pride they have and made it a show place for family members to pay tribute to their loved ones. If you see Dan or any of his crew, thank them for making this a Memorial Day weekend to remember.

I would also like to thank all the volunteers who helped place flags on over 900 veterans' graves. The beautiful cemetery and all the red, white and blue flags were a tribute to those who served our country. I have enclosed just one picture to share so all can see how proud we should be of the dedication of the maintenance crew and the over 40 volunteers who placed flags. Thank you, Gary Fast for escorting the flags to and from the cemetery in your restored US Military Jeep and Trailer.

We take great pride in being part of a community who shows respect and honor to their veterans who sacrificed so much.

God Bless America and all who serve.

Sincerely,

Art and Marilyn Widhalm
