Myrel Anton Fischer, age 80, of Glasgow, Mont., passed away at Valley View Home in Glasgow, on Thursday, June 1, 2023.

The family has planned a Celebration of Life at the Glasgow VFW June 9, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. Burial of ashes will take place at the Glentana Cemetery, in Glentana, Mont., at a later date.

Myrel was born in Mobridge, S.D., to Tony and Ruby Fischer on November 14, 1942.

He worked 15 years at the Coca-Cola plant, managed the Elks Club, and retired after spending the last 22 years as a Valley County Correctional Officer/Jailor.

He loved to play cards, watch sports and read western and war history books.

Preceding him in death were his daughter, Melissa Greenhagen; and infant children, Michelle and Michael Martin; along with his parents, Tony and Ruby Fischer.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mary; a son Mike (Doreen); his grandkids Colby, Quinton, Krissy and Craig Greenhagen, Garrith and Errion Fischer; along with 5 great-grandkids, a sister Judy Edwinson and brothers Jerry and Robert Fischer.
