If you were in it like Glasgow was Saturday evening, the hail storm was bad. But only some of the areas were hit while most others escaped. Glasgow was subjected to a heavy downpour that turned into pea-size and larger hail after 7 p.m.

Escorted by kilt clad junior honor students, they walked in two by two, the Glasgow High School graduation class of 2013, the white-robed girls carrying red flowers, the boys in red wearing white boutonnieres.

The Glasgow City-County Library Board has approved the hiring of new library director Emily Wilson. She comes to Glasgow from Keystone, Iowa.

A pair of Raiders scored the only points for area schools at the class C state meet in Laurel on Friday and Saturday. Lacock placed in all three of her events, scoring a total of 10.33 points for the Lady Raiders and Capdeville scored four points from a 12' 6" clearing of the pole vault.

Clearing her final high jump gave Megan Dailey not only the event state title but also her spot on the podium. Cleared a 5' 2" bar and when it moved up to 5-3 both her and her competitor hit the bar dropping it back to 5-2 and subsequently 5-1 where Dailey was the person who cleared winning the event and securing third place for the Scottie Girls.

Thursday June 4, 1998

St. Marie developer Terry Parks told the homeowners in the St. Marie Condominium Association on Friday "have it your way then." Facing their opposition and a possible lawsuit he reversed his action to eliminate all the homeowners from the condominium, leaving in only three vacant units he owns.

Hall of Famer Mark Yoakam has decided to retire as cross country coach at Glasgow High School, after racking up an enviable collection of championships and awards. During his 24 years in Glasgow he was chosen cross country coach of the year three times in 1978, 1980 and 1993.

When Governor Marc Racicot came to speak at Nashua's Graduation, he knew he had at least one friend in town. Second grader Colt Ferguson had just flown to Helena to have lunch with him on Wednesday.

Is it track star Paul Yoakam, basketball captain Paul Yoakam or cross country runner Paul Yoakam? Surprise... It's all three. Senior Glasgow High School athlete Paul Yoakam is one of the rare breeds of all-around athletes.

May 31, 1973

Glasgow's Centennial railcar – beginning its second year as a tourist port-of-entry for the Bonnie city – is being spruced up for a new summer season that will get underway officially next Monday. The railcar, one of 13 cars that made up the centennial train, is representing Montana at the World's Fair.

Outstanding individual effort brought two state titles home to Glasgow from the class A state track championships held last weekend in Missoula. Senior Jay Hagfeldt scored a 199.9 ft javelin throw to take first in the event. Pam Fuhrman took the win in the mile event, running a 5:33.4, seven seconds faster than the second place contender, 13 seconds faster than her personal best. Fuhrman took home the state trophy in the first season of Scotties Girls Track.

Glasgow Bagpipe, the senior high school newspaper, received an all-state award in class B for excellence from the Montana Interscholastic Editorial Association and the University of Montana School of Journalism.

Carolyn K. Hahn, of Fort Peck was among the 17 University of Montana students in Missoula elected to serve on the central board, the governing body of the Associated Students at UM for the 1973-1974 school year.

May 27, 1948

To the accompaniment of band music and vigorous talks, the general division in the current Deaconess Hospital campaign opened its one-week campaign at a dinner meeting in St. Raphael's clubhouse Monday night. James K. McGibney, general division chairman presided. Women of the Catholic Church served 160 plates.

Judge John Hurly of the 17th judicial district composed of Valley and Phillips counties today filed his nominating petition with the secretary of state in Helena to succeed himself on the judiciary ballot at the primary election, July 20.

Hinsdale – A violent windstorm late Saturday afternoon must have had an aversion to barns or too violent an affinity for them. Three western Valley county barns in widely separated locations were practically demolished during the storm.

Frazer – In its first game of the season, the Frazer baseball nine took a 12-0 trouncing from the Nashua club on the diamond here Sunday. Nashua and its capable battery, pitcher Vic Weinmeister and Catcher Homer Loucks, allowed but one hit a two-bagger by Cliff Long.
