Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Western Valley 4-H Club

The Western Valley 4-H Club held our May meeting and annual Theony Cemetery clean-up on May 19. Michael Ketchum, Linden Holt, Cooper Albus, Broc McColly, and I were the only members able to make it. LaMae and Steve Lacock joined us and fed us after the clean-up. Historically, the cemetery has suffered from a cactus infestation, but over the years we have been able to cut back on the cactus quite a bit.

As usual, our May meeting was rather unorganized, due to the absence of our President, Vice President, and agenda. We managed to discuss Rabies Clinic, Sewing Camp, and which Fort Peck Summer Theatre play we wanted to attend. As of now, Rabies Clinic is on June 17, Sewing Camp plans are still under way, and Fort Peck plays need to be discussed at our next meeting.

After the meeting, some of us stuck around to fly kites. Linden Holt succeeded in getting a semi-broken airplane kite to fly and then proceeded to enter into a "kite war" with me.

Stir-Ups was on May 23. Michael Ketchum, Linden Holt, and I were the only members from Western Valley to attend. We all got recognized as having the "best something-or-other." Michael had the best oral presentation, Linden had the best-tasting pasta dish, and I had the best organizational skills.
