Scottie Track Teams Win District 2B Meet

Glasgow's track teams ran away with the District 2B titles May 13 in Glasgow. The Scottie girls posted 225 team points for first, outpacing Malta, 141; Poplar, 66; Wolf Point, 48, and Harlem, 39. The Scottie boys won with 234 team points, ahead of Wolf Point, 135; Malta, 80; Harlem, 39, and Poplar, 31.

The girls put up 19 new personal records and five season records while the boys notched 24 personal bests and two season records.

Moving on to the Northern B Divisional Meet in Great Falls Saturday, May 20, for the Glasgow girls are Gina Page, Joely Chappell, Ava Lloyd, Piper Johnson, Abigail Kulczyk, Emily See, Tanae Baker, Kimber Dulaney, Haleigh Huntsman, Kheyerah Bilger, Mayzie Yoakam, Kira Beck, Kaylly Turner, Kolbi Ross, Lacey White, Hannah Holinde, Emma Whitmer, Eve Stone and Haylly Turner.

The boys team is taking Khye Gamas, Kyler Holinde, Reed Larsen, Tavin Boland, Lane Thompson, Adam Mickelson, Dillon Hughes, Rex Monson, Noah Runner, Andrew Linder, Toryn Richards, Kyler Whitman, Wyatt Babb, Connor Hudyma, Vaughn Miller, Myles Yoakam, Nick Solorzano and Malin Beck to the next postseason event. The top six placers at the District Meet advanced to the Divisional event.

GIRLS

Page won the 100, 200 and 400 meters for the Scotties Glasgow. She took the 100 with a personal best 13.40, the 200 with a time of 27.27 and the 400 with another personal record, 1:04.04. Chappell took third in the 100 with a time of 13.70 while Lloyd set a season record at 14.40 for sixth place. H. Turner ran a 14.84 for 10th place.

Chappell and Johnson both set personal bests in the 200, coming in second and third, respectively. Chappell ran a 28.78 while Johnson finished in 29.00. Lloyd came in seventh with a season record 29.77 while Kulczyk ran a 31.31 for 10th place. Johnson, Lloyd and Kulczyk all qualified in the 400 meters. Johnson took second with a time of 1:05.19. Lloyd claimed fourth at 1:08.81 while Kulcyk ran a personal best 1:14.05 for sixth place.

See won the 800 meters with a time of 2:30.06, followed by Baker in second at 2:32.02. Dulaney placed fourth with a time of 2:44.40, a personal record. Bilger finished in 3:03.75 for seventh place. See also won the 1600, setting a personal record at 5:29.29 with Baker hot on her heels at 5:29.32 in second place. Dulaney and Huntsman set personal bests, coming in fourth and fifth. Dulaney ran a 6:06.93 while Huntsman finished in 6:07.58. Bilger took eighth with a time of 6:59.80. Huntsman and Bilger both placed in the top six in the 3200 meters. Huntsman took third at 13:40.04 while Bilger ran the race in 14:56.22 for firth place.

Ma. Yoakam won the 100m hurdles with a personal best 16.68. K. Beck also set a personal record, taking fifth with a time of 18.58. Ross took ninth at 21.05, another personal record for the Glasgow girls. K. Beck and Ross both advanced in the 300m hurdles. K. Beck set a personal record at 57.04 for fourth place while Ross took fifth at 1:01.51.

Chappell, Johnson, K. Turner and Page ran a 53.83 in the 4x100 relay to win the event. Huntsman, White, H. Holinde and Whitmer took fourth in the 4x400 relay with a time of 5:38.39.

H. Holinde set a personal record and qualified for the Divisional meet with a personal best throw of 30-08.00 in the shot put. She placed fifth. Whitmer set a season record at 25-07.50 and took 12th place. Kulczyk threw 22-07.00 for 17th while Myli Swindler finished right behind her with a 22-02.00 throw.

H. Holinde also led the Scottie girls in the discus, finishing in ninth place with a personal best 75-06. Whitmer's season record 74-02 put her in 11th place while Kulczyk's personal best 67-04 earned her 14th place. Swindler threw 60-10 for 18th place.

White placed 13th in the javelin with personal record throw of 67-08. Whitmer threw 66-04 for 14th followed by Phylis Greybear in 15th at 63-02. Swindler's 61-01 was a personal record and good for 16th place. Kulczyk came in 17th with a 52-01 throw.

Stone won the high jump after clearing 4-08.00. Dulaney jumped 4-04.00 for third and H. Turner cleared 4-00.00 for sixth place. Stone also won the pole vault with a 9-06.00 height. K. Beck claimed second at 9-00.00 with Ma. Yoakam right behind her at 8-06.00. Ross qualified for the Divisional Meet with a height of 7-00.00 and a sixth place showing. See cleared 6-00.00 for seventh place.

Chappell won the long jump with a personal best distance of 15-08.00. Stone jumped 13-10.50 for seventh place while H. Turner took 10th with a 13-00.00 jump.

Ma. Yoakam won the triple jump at 32-07.50. Chappell placed third at 31-00.50 followed by Johnson's personal best 30-07.00 distance. Stone notched a distance of 29-05.50 for sixth place.

BOYS

Kyler Whitman set a personal record in the 100 meters, taking ninth place at 12.03. Richards ran the race in 12.12 for 10th place and Linder ran a personal best 14.21 for 19th place. Richards set a personal record in the 200 meters at 25.09, finishing in seventh. Gamas won the 400 at 53.66 while Monson took seventh with a time of 58.48.

K. Holinde won the 800 meters with a personal best 2:06.13, followed by Larsen in second at 2:06.80. Boland finished in fourth with a personal best 2:10.34 while Thompson took fourth at 2:17.29, a season record. K. Holinde, Larsen and Thompson all advance in the 1600 meters as well. Holinde ran a 4:50.12, Larsen a 4:54.73 and Thompson a 5:24.28. James Seekins and M. Beck set personal records, at 6:18.65 and 6:24.71, for 10th and 11th places, respectively. K. Holinde took second in the 3200 meters, finishing in 10:51.41 while Seekins took seventh with a 14:05.68 time.

The Scotties owned the 110m hurdles, placing all five runners. Gamas won at 17.61, followed by Mickelson at 20:43, Hughes at 21.46, Monson at 22.25 and Runner at 22.76. Mickelson, Hughes, Monson and Runner all notched personal records with their times. Gamas also won the 300m hurdles, running a 45.20. Mickelson came in third at 48.13 and Linder set a personal best time of 55.54 for fifth place.

Gamas, Richards, Whitman and Babb ran a 46.93 combined in the 4x100 relay for second place. Gamas, Boland, Hudyma and Larsen turned in a 3:42.63 to win the 4x400 relay.

Hudyma advanced to Divisionals in the shot put, palcing fifth with a 37-11 throw. Babb's personal best 35-09.00 throw put him in ninth while Monson threw 35-00.00, a personal record, for 10th place. Hughes claimed 13th place at 30-01.00. Mason Swenson earned 18th with a personal best 28-04.00 toss.

Miller won the discus with a new best, 141-09. Hudyma also set a new record, 123-11, to finish in second. Babb's 118-10 put him in third while My. Yoakam threw 115-04, a personal record, for fourth place. Connor Whitmer finished in seventh at 94-06, a personal best.

Miller threw 129-04 in the javelin for second place. Solorzano's personal best throw of 119-10 put him in fourth while My. Yoakam set a season record at 112-05 and claimed sixth place. Cam Nelson finished in 10th with a personal best 102-01 throw. Runner threw 85-10 for 12th place.

Whitman won the high jump after clearing 5-05.00. Boland set a personal record and finished third at 4-10.00 while Babb claimed fourth with a height of 4-08.00.

Thompson won the pole vault at a height of 11-07.00. Mickelson cleared 10-00, a personal best, for second place while M. Beck took third at 7-06.00. Solorzano took fourth at 7-00.00.

Richards, Whitman and Runner advanced in the long jump, taking fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively. Richards jumped 17-06.00, Whitman 16-01.50 and Runner 16-01.50. Richards won the triple jump with a personal best distance of 38-06.00. Monson finished fifth with a distance of 33-02.00.
