Scottie Softball 3-1 in Conrad

Record 3-3, 5-8 Overall

Glasgow’s softball team racked up three more wins at the Conrad Invitational this past weekend, with only one loss. The Scotties rolled over Colstrip 22-0 in three innings before losing 7-1 to Shepherd Friday. Glasgow took a one-run win over Conrad, 8-7, and downed Shelby 20-1 in three innings on Saturday.

The showing improved the squad’s record to 3-3, 5-8 overall. Glasgow sits behind Shepherd, Huntley Project, Conrad, Stillwater and Cut Bank in the Eastern B/C standings with Colstrip and Shelby closing out the list.

Glasgow put up four runs in the first, 11 in the second and seven in the third inning in their romp over Colstrip. Daley Aune struck out six Colts in the shutout. The pitcher also had a double and three RBIs with three runs scored on the other side of the plate.

Her teammates also cracked the bats. Carly Nelson with 3-for-4 with five RBIs and two runs. Tatum Nyquist went 2-for-2, sending four home and scoring four times herself. Berkley Hillman sent three runners home with a 2-for-2 showing at bat. Macy Martin hit a double with two RBIs and four runs on a 2-for-4 performance. Halle Hunter went 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI while Brielle Partridge had two RBIs and two runs on one hit. Tessa Miller had a double and and RBI while Hayden Green added a hit and an RBI.

Glasgow fell to Shepherd 7-1 in a game where Aune gave up 14 hits while striking out five from the pitcher’s circle. Ashlee Meland scored the run for the Scotties while Stevie Hartwell had the RBI double. Martin and Nelson each notched a hit for Glasgow.

The Scotties overcame a 2-0 deficit after two innings against Conrad on Saturday to post an 8-7 win.

Aune started the game in the circle and threw for three and one-third innings before Meland closed out the game. Aune had five strikeouts while Meland shut down three batters and gave up four hits and one walk.

Partridge sent two runners home in the seventh taking the score from a 7-6 Conrad advantage to a Glasgow win. Aune went 4-for-4 at bat with a double, three RBIs and two runs. Hartwell and Hillman both had two hits and an RBI with Hartwell scoring twice and Hillman once. Nyquist added a double with an RBI while Alexis Murdock had a hit and scored once. Martin and Meland also both scored for Glasgow.

The Scotties crushed Shelby to close out their weekend with Partridge throwing a no-hitter with four strikeouts. Meland put up a double and a triple with three RBIs and three runs. Hartwell and Partridge both added a single and a double with two runs. Hartwell sent three runners home while Partridge put up two RBIs. Aune scored two runs with an RBI on two hits. Nelson and Nyquist each added a hit with Nelson sending three runners across the plate and Nyquist two. Brynn Donaldson had two RBIs with a double while Riley Clampitt and Hunter added a hit, a RBI and a run a piece. CharLee McColly had a hit and RBI while Martin added a hit and scored twice for the Scotties.

Glasgow travels to Havre Friday, May 5, and will host the Scottie Youth Softball Camp at Sullivan Field Saturday, May 6, at noon.
