Law Enforcement Report

For the week of March 27 through April 1, there were 12 motor vehicle stops, two reports of VIN inspection requests and two reports of loose dogs.

Monday, March 27

0945 – A nurse called to advise they have a cat bite victim. The cat belongs to the victim and this happened at home. An email will be send to the Health Department and an officer will be contacted.

1758 – Caller stated a woman has his dog. She told him he needs a release to get his dog back. An officer was patched with the caller.

Tuesday, March 28

1032 – Reporting party called in stating there has been a vehicle parked in their church parking lot for at least a week to 10 days now and they would like it moved. A description of the vehicle was provided. Dispatch called the registered owner’s husband who stated the vehicle broke down last week. He stated he would get the vehicle moved by tomorrow. Reporting party was notified.

1129 – Reporting party called in about an abandoned vehicle that has been there for over a year. She provided the license plate information. The reporting party also stated there are two tires off the vehicle and she heard that the engine had seized up.

2135 – Caller requested an officer to remove his ex. He said she refused to leave at first but now she’s outside and won’t return his keys.

2250 – An abandoned vehicle call was recorded. A car that was parked on the road was checked on.

Wednesday, March 29

0711 – Caller with the County Road Dept. called stating one of his guys came across a deer that has been hit. He was told it looks like all its legs are broken. The deer’s head is up and will be on the left side of the road. A deputy was notified and at 0728, advised was not able to locate. At 0734, another person called advising the deer is between a business and the railroad tracks. At 0745, the deputy advised the deer has been taken care of.

1311 – Reporting party stated he is going westbound on Hwy 2, just passing MM 536, and there is a pick up truck behind him that is all over the road. It has crossed over the center line three to four times already. He doesn’t know if something is wrong or not but believes someone should check on it. At 1324, deputy advised she just passed a semi hauling hay on the westbound side off the white line. He has traffic cones set up by his rig and she will check on him after clearing the call. At 1332, she advised she has patrolled to MM 504 and is unable to locate the swerving vehicle.

1404 – Reporting party called in advising that at his apartment building there are cats who are crying loudly, trying to get out. No one has picked up the mail in a few weeks and there is a funny smell coming from the apartment. Officer advised he was able to make entry and it appears no one is home. Officer will contact the landlord to make them aware.

1538 – Caller reported someone took their vehicle. The last person who used the vehicle on Monday, parked it in a parking lot. The keys were left inside. She’s going to call tow companies to see if they picked it up. At 1552, the reporting party stopped into dispatch to report the vehicle as stolen.

1720 – Caller reported that someone has been parking a vehicle that’s full of skinned coyotes in front of his apartment. He has a child and his girlfriend is upset about it. Officer later advised he spoke with the vehicle owner who will remove the skinned coyotes from his vehicle.

2005 – Caller reported an injured antelope that’s trying to drag itself off the road.

Thursday, March 30

0117 – Reporting party called and seemed very reluctant to report anything. Dispatch could hear an argument going on in the background but could not get the reporting party to tell the address. The address was eventually provided but did not agree with the map. Dispatch kept asking who “he” was and the caller asked someone there if she should say who “he” was then the call was disconnected. At 0138, officer said the sister called because she was worried but a woman said she and her boyfriend were only arguing.

1036 – Reporting party came in and stated after receiving a text message, from who he thought was Verizon, stating they were shutting down his phone services, responded and filled out a form, including his social security number. He came in and spoke to the local Verizon store and they informed him it was a scam. He then contacted social security who blocked his number and informed him to make a police report.

1735 – Caller reported a reckless driver that was going eastbound by Holiday, doing about 60 MPH. The vehicle almost rolled by Reynolds. A description of the location of the vehicle was provided. The caller was later able to provide a license plate but couldn’t see the state.

1957 – Caller stated she made a complaint today at the City Office because nobody has been blowing her street and it’s getting flooded. She said the city didn’t do anything. Dispatch called the Street Dept and they said they were there today but the catch basin is frozen. He said they plan to return tomorrow. Dispatch advised the reporting party of this and she stated she didn’t see anyone from the city there today.

2002 – An officer advised he’d be out with someone in front of a business.

2005 – Advised there will be pumping of water out of the underpass. They will pump as much water as they can but some will pool up. If anyone calls about it, they’ll have to get to it in the morning.

Friday, March 31

1343 – A male called in wanting to know if anyone has turned in a phone either last night or today. He said his phone was in a bag on the porch of an address last night and now it is gone. Dispatch advised him to try the GPD office as someone might have turned it in there and if someone turns it into dispatch they will get a hold of him. A description of the phone was provided.

2130 – Caller reported his daughter hit a deer. A description of the vehicle was provided. At 2200, per deputy, the deer is dispatched and the MDT local office was notified.

Saturday, April 1

0135 – Reporting party stated a male is sitting in a dark colored pickup with a kayak in the back. She says they are very intoxicated and starts the truck, shuts it off and plays the music loud. An officer arrived who logged a PBT of 0.328. Hospital nurses were notified for medical clearance.

0632 – Reporting party stated that sometime during the night someone ran into a vehicle and pushed it, crushing a motorcycle into another vehicle. She was just driving by and saw it.

1827 – A public assist call was recorded. A deputy advised the vehicle has a flat tire and is off the road.
