"SLAM THE DAM 7"

On your mark, Get set, GO!!

The Fort Peck Senior Citizens are sponsoring the seventh annual fun walk/run across the face of Fort Peck Dam on Saturday, March 18. It is called “SLAM THE DAM 7” (Run with the Wind).

This is a non-competitive walk/run—no times will be kept. On the morning of March 18, the committee members will decide which direction the walk/run will go—depending on which way the wind is blowing that day. That means that hopefully, the wind will be at your back, if at all. Watch for signs as you arrive or listen to the radio to see from which side of the dam the walk/run will begin. Port-a-potties/bathrooms will be available at beginning, midway, and end. Drivers are available if you only want to do part of the walk/run. The distance across is approximately four miles. You will be driven back to your car when you complete the walk/run.

Every participant receives a finish souvenir. Water and fruit will also be provided. Cost of the walk/run is $5 a person—and the event is for ALL ages. Bikes or dogs are NOT welcome.

Registration will be from 9 to 10 that morning—no pre-registration is needed. If you would like to pre-register, you can do so at the Ft. Peck Credit Union in Fort Peck or Glasgow or the Ft. Peck Town Office. Students under the age of 18 must have a parent sign the registration/release form. The walk/run starts at 10 a.m. Proceeds will benefit Senior Citizens’ projects.

Supplemental funding is being provided by Thrivent Financial. For further information, call Donna at 406-480-5029 or Judy at 406-480-9057.
