For the week of Nov. 14 through 20, there were 11 motor vehicle stops, four reports of a loose dogs and one report of loose livestock.

Monday, Nov. 14

1046 – A slide off call was recorded. The vehicle is now out of the ditch and is back on the road.

1121 – A young male walked into the store, took a beer and walked out. The manager stated they got the beer back and stated to the male they would call law enforcement. The suspect stated he didn’t care and wanted to go to jail. An officer was notified who asked the manager if he wanted the suspect to be cited for the theft. It was stated the manager just wanted the male off his property. At 1139, the officer advised he had the male and is trying to sort through conditions for the individual. It was advised the individual is not on any active arrestable conditions that he could find.

1334 – BLM reported a vehicle stalled in front of the BLM office. An officer was notified to respond.

1345 – Caller reported he was leaving the Lutheran Church and hit a parked vehicle. He stated there are no injuries and he isn’t sure what happened. He believes he must have slid and hit the vehicle. A citation was issued for careless driving.

1345 – Caller reported a semi lost a tire. The tire is in the road and the semi is pulled over. At 1410, deputy advised he traveled to MM 563 and hadn’t seen any tire or semi. He will continue a few more miles to make sure it wasn’t reported wrong.

1440 – Reporting party called and requested law enforcement to the parking lot of the CPS building. She stated that a couple, who had been in her office, the male appeared intoxicated and had blood on his shirt. He denied anything happening. The caller stated they were yelling at each other in the parking lot but she wasn’t sure if things turned physical as she hadn’t seen it. The information was passed along to an officer and a deputy.

1801 – Caller reported a deer struck by the car in front of her is still alive and trying to get up.

1841 – Caller stated he received a package from FedEx at his address. Inside the package was a dry green plant substance, double bagged in vacuum sealed bags. He was guessing it to be a couple of pounds. He would like a deputy to call him to set up a time to look at the package. The box was addressed to him and the return is from a male in Illinois.

Tuesday, Nov. 15

0938 – Hospital called stating they have a male subject in the ER being seen for a dog bite that occurred on Nov. 9 and it’s possibly infected.

1157 – Caller reported a traffic jam on the Food bank. She states there are two lines of traffic for this and some people are in the center lane. She stated a snow plow just came by and couldn’t plow. An officer responded who advised it is turkey day. They are handing out turkeys and he believes the situation is under control. He will speak to them about setting up something different in December for the hams.

1520 – Received a call advising a duress alarm for the east office. Later an officer advised everything is okay, he spoke to someone on site. They have some people there working on the alarm system.

1554 – Reporting party called in stating she had some hunters that were telescoping, looking into her house. She went out to where they were and asked them if they were hunters. She said they responded with threatening comments. She also told them there was no hunting on her property and they needed to leave. She obtained a plate number. The caller stated they have left at this time.

1620 – Caller was at a location around 11:45 and noon today. She has a no-contact order against a male. She said the male was at the location with his girlfriend/wife. She said he kept looking her over and calling her names and threatening about three to four times. He also said “Wait till I get you out back.” The caller said she parks out back and stated the male’s girlfriend/wife kept advising him to stop but he continued on. She knows that the male carries a knife and she’s terrified.

1755 – Caller reported a deer close to the yellow line. DOT was notified and a voicemail was left.

2218 – Officer advised two deer had been hit and one may need to be put down. Officer advised they were antelope and there were three of them, he did have to put one down. They are on the west side of MT Highway 24. MDOT was notified.

Wednesday, Nov. 16

1528 – MT DOT called requesting a deputy. He states there are a couple of hunters in dark colored pick-up truck that are just parking in the lane of traffic. He states they have moved these same hunters along a few times but they think they can continually park on the road. It was advised they are trying to plow the highway and they are in the way. At 1618, deputy advised he will continue looking but so far is unable to locate the vehicle. At 1625, deputy advised he patrolled to MM 38 and is unable to locate.

1709 – Caller requested assistance at the tTwo Stepp Hills by the administrative building in Fort Peck. One of these steep hills that runs to the interpretive center. She stated her father and his wife slid off of the road. There are no injuries and they contacted a tow company, which is on their way. At 1540, the reporting party was called back to get the exact location. She stated someone with the city of Fort Peck was out there and had put sand down but she said they will be needing more than that.

1623 – Caller reported she was rear ended. The other vehicle ran into the ditch and is stuck. There are no injuries to the caller however the other driver stated her head hurts after hitting it on the steering wheel but is requiring no medical assistance. Officer advised the male driver requested a wrecker. The tow driver was contacted and will be on their way.

1659 – A slide-off call was reported.

1716 – MHP copied a slide off and asked if there was any significant damage as well as if a deputy needed assistance. It was determined the slide off caused no damage and assistance will not be needed. The deputy remained on scene until Thompson and Sons arrived on scene.

1728 – Caller reported he is stuck. He is driving a semi pulling doubles that is loaded. He is wondering if someone has a blade who can go pull him out or if he should contact Thompson and Sons. A deputy as called who advised Thompson and Sons would need to be called because they can handle semi calls. The reporting party was contacted back with the number for the tow truck.

1731 – Caller reported a tow truck with lights on that is trying to pass people and it’s all over the road. She is concerned about people’s safety. The reporting party stated she almost hit the ditch to avoid it a time or two. A deputy was enroute.

1859 – Caller requested a welfare check on her friend. The caller stated she and her friend check on each other every day, usually by text and they will periodically talk on the phone. This morning she got a check mark from the friend at 0900, then she was getting no response at approximately 1515. After that the caller called the cell phone and landline intermittently with no answer. She would like an officer or the friend to give her a call when the officer gets to the address.

Thursday, Nov. 17

0418 – Officer requested the County Road Department be told about Airport Road. He advised there are some drifts that are impossible for vehicles without four-wheel drive. A message was left for the County Road Department.

0427 – Caller reported that he found a rifle and asked if anyone reported a lost Christianson Arms 300 PRC Rifle. There is no information on a rifle like that. The rifle was found at a block management sign-in box in McCone County. It was advised he should check with McCone County and gave them their number. The caller stated he had looked for Facebook posts but no one had posted anything about a lost rifle. He stated he would check with McCone County and then if nothing came of it he would bring it in to the Sheriff. At 0528 the caller reported he had spoke with McCone County and someone had reported the rifle missing. He said he provided his contact information so the owner can contact him to get his rifle back.

0741 – A public assist call was reported. Deputy advised his shovel broke and he is going to see if the school has one, he can use. He is also going to see if the person on the skid steer can help out. The vehicle is in the ditch. The driver got a hold of someone and they are coming to get her out.

0801 – Reporting party called stating there are semis with side dumps that are just blowing past her house already this morning. She states they did this all day yesterday too. She would like an officer to come out and get them to slow down. An officer went well out past the bridge and didn’t see any semis of any kind nor any tracks. He will keep an eye on the area for them though and when he finds out who they are he will notify their supervisor about this.

1047 – Reporting party called in stating his son and his friend work on Wednesdays and Thursdays in Glasgow. They left work last night after unloading the trucks and didn’t show back up for work today. He states they were supposed to be staying overnight at the Star Lodge but was told they never checked in. He believes they would have gone done with work about 2200 to 0000 last night. A description of the vehicle they were driving was provided. The officer called the motel and also looked at all the motels in town but had negative contact. At 1212, the caller called to state the two males are in Malta and safe.

1644 – Caller reported a male was attacking people. The caller was very excited and didn’t want to answer any questions. She stated he may have a hatchet by now and provided the address. She hung up while trying to gather more information. Deputy was advised who believes the incident was in Poplar. Roosevelt 911 was contacted as well.

Friday, Nov. 18

0237 – Reporting party stated a male, who is walking down toward Highland Drive, was screaming, stopped, and kicked her husband’s RR truck in front by the headlight and by the door. A description of the male was provided. An officer spoke to the reporting party and they didn’t see any damage on the vehicle. Per office, the reporting party stated the suspect tried getting in and the door was locked so they stopped off. Per officer, the caller also stated he had said he was going to put a bullet into his head but the caller didn’t believe it was armed. At 0320, officer spoke to the grandmother, who has him and calmed him down. The grandmother was advised what the male said and to bring him to the hospital. The grandmother stated she would handle it.

0838 – Caller with a company asked if a tow truck can be called to his location. The truck has a dropped drive shaft. The truck won’t start and Glenn’s was unavailable. Thompsons and Sons was contacted who stated they received a few calls from this company but they didn’t like how much it was going ot cost. It was advised no one else is available. She stated the owner had called them already and said to just come out and he will deal with the insurance company later.

0857 – Caller reported a dead antelope in the west bound lane. MT DOT was notified.

1222 – Caller reported an injured antelope. He states it is about ½ mile down Vandalia Road ont eh left side of the road, then about 25 feet from the fence. A deputy was contacted ho advised the only antelope he saw, got up and ran away when he got there.

1513 – Caller reported there appears to be a bike laying in the middle of the road.

2130 – Officer is out with a vehicle who forgot to turn on their lights.

Saturday, Nov. 19

1437 – Landlord reported she has a renter that hasn’t paid rent for a month and a half. He had borrowed a vehicle from his grandmother and hadn’t returned it yet. The caller is scared of the individual and her husband can’t climb stairs. She says they had never had problems with the renter before now. She would like to have someone come and makes sure he is alright. An officer was notified.
