Scottie Volleyball 2-3 in Chinook

Glasgow’s volleyball squad attended the Chinook Invitational Sept. 3 where they posted a 2-3 record.

Head coach Brooke Martin told the Courier her scotties played hard 50-minute games in triple digit heat, only missing out on the Championship by a point as time ran out.

“[I] saw progress on the things we worked on this week like out middle blocking and serving,” she added. “That’s the biggest thing with a young team is watching to see if they are improving where I am asking them and they did.”

Glasgow defeated Shelby 25-21,10-8 in pool play before falling to Roy-Winifred 25-13, 12-12. Highwood beat Glasgow 25-24, 15-8 before the tourney began.

In the first round the Scotties downed Cut Bank 25-22, 25-19. They fell to Highwood 21-25, 25-24, 4-3 in the semifinal.

The Scottie JV and c-quads hosted the Lustre Christian Lions Sept. 2, winning all their matches. The JV won 25-21, 24-21, 12-25, 25-13 while the c-squad won theirs 25-18, 25-12, 15-5.

The Scotties’ home opener is this Friday, Sept. 9, as Glasgow hosts the Malta M-ettes. The c-squad game begins at 4:30 p.m. followed by JV and varsity games. Saturday, Sept. 10, the squad travels to Harlem for three games with c-squad action starting at 1 p.m.
